BERLIN (Reuters) - The German city of Cologne has set up drive-in brothels in a bid to move the red light district away from near its landmark cathedral, authorities said.

The complex is located on the outskirts of the city and includes an "approach zone" where clients drive their cars past prostitutes to select them.

When they have made their choice, the prostitute is driven into one of the covered parking spaces adjoining a bedroom with a shower.

"The old red light district was more or less uncontrolled," a city spokesman said, adding that it had become a blight on the cathedral area with passers-by sometimes mistaken for prostitutes.

The complex is open from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Prostitution is legal in Germany and police or city administration officials are on the site, together with a Catholic charity to provide support for the prostitutes, many of whom are drug users.

The project, the first publicly funded scheme of its kind in the country, cost the taxpayer 830,000 marks ($387,100).

Does anyone have information about how easy it is to purchase a prepaid German sim for my GSM phone once in Germany? I found a place online that sells a “Free and Easy” card at http://www.telestial.com/products/germany_sim.htm but it seems way marked up in price at US $60. This is for $15 US in calls and includes all incoming calls free.

I wouldn't mind getting one beforehand, but I can just as easily purchase one in country. I have a T-mobile phone to begin with and since they are a German company I figured I could call them and easily purchase a prepaid T-Mobile sim for Germany. WRONG! They were fucking clueless. Didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I fucking hate T-mobile. Calling their customer care has been completely worthless to me on more than one occasion.

I don't have to get a T-Mobile sim, I'll be happy with anything that works. So far I have only found two companies that provide German prepaid sims though. T-Mobile and this Free and Easy E-Plus sim. There have to be others, right?

If your phone has the 900?1800 band and has a sim card GSM then it is easy to buy a card in germany and you can buy refills anywhere. But calling abroad is expensive. Give the phone number to people you want to call you and have them do it that way.

where is the best action in frankfurt apart from the FKK. Is there any problem if u dont speak german?

Ola, IMO outside of the FKK´s, you can find action in the red light district. Which is by the train station. You don´t need to speak German.

It is not the best, but that is all you you will find in FRA. BEWARE of the Thai ladyboy´s!

You can find one in every major city, there are two types of buildings one is called Laufhaus it has an open door you can walk straight in,inside it's like a hotel the doors that are open you will see the girls waiting for you the doors that are closed means they are busy.

Next there's building with closed entrances, they have girls at the windows, they will buzz you into the building once you acknowledge them, these are about 30€ for twenty minutes.
