since I'am the proud owner of the 1.000.000 lei, at present 2007 it equals about $3.40
it used to equal about $34 about 2 yrs ago.
back then 1 dollar = 34.400 lei

Happy, My friend, I too brought home about 20 of these, however it is a ROL not a lei. Lei is a more or less descriptive word meaning money, in any event it is a non subject, Jan 1, 2007 it was worth 0!!!!! The new unit of money the RON, which is the ROL/ 10000 is now the only valid form of cash. Oh well, I just get happy thinking the 6 Million I spwent on a whore in Bucharesti is now only about $30.......... and for effort she was right up there with any GDP in Rio for effort!!!

the real question is if 1,000,000 lei will get ya laid or not?

don marco!! one million used to get you laid for one night. but since Romania joined the European Union this year, things have changed quite a bit. well like any place , if you speak the local language and drive a hard bargain, you will get results.
I think next year Romania will adopt the EURO as the currency, so goodbye happy times.
