La Parada Cafe Bar
Calle Socorro Sanchez #4
809-221-0973
Open at 8 pm
If you walk out of the Juaragua and face the ocean, make a right and walk to the corner. Right on the corner is an open-air bar full of people having fun. Make a right. After the bar is a (usually empty) restaurant also called La Parada. Right past the restaurant is the bar. It is clearly marked.
RT here. I was walking by the place and heard the music, so I went in to take a look. I hadn't seen it mentioned here on CH or on any other boards, but I do not think that this is a new location.
The attendance on a Monday night at 9:00 pm was as follows:

It's funny, when I think back on my weekend in Santo Domingo I primarily think about roaming the colonial district and visiting the really old churches and the cathedral and everything. The pussy doesn't really stand out in any way, but the puta bum rush on every guy that walks in a bar does stand out. I can't think of anywhere else I've been where you walk into a bar, stand at the bar and order a beer, and when you turn around there's a wall of putas literally breathing down your neck. Just par for the course of the ignorant Dominican "steal from him quick before he leaves" mentality, the don't get it and won't anytime soon.

La Parada Night Club is located on the west side of Calle Socorro Sanchez between the Malecon (Avenida George Washington) and Avenida Independencia. It should be noted that this club is located near the middle of the block and is north of La Parada Cerveceria. I stopped in here twice recently but was unimpressed with the talent both times. The first time was a weekend night. Approximately 10 ladies were available, but I only found one attractive with maybe two more that could have been options in a pinch. The second time was a week night. Only 4 ladies were working, or at least came out. A couple were ok, but I knew much better could be found elsewhere.
Beers were 150 DOP. They didn't have a card on hand and I forgot to get the exact address and didn't get a phone number, but I remember to get their operation hours: 7pm - 3am. I think it was daily, but I'm not positive about Sunday. I didn't seriously ask about sessions here, but was quoted $100 USD or 3500 DOP by a lady that sat next to me.
I think the place has potential, as in size, location, and setup of the club, but they'll need to work on some recruiting and marketing.
Next time I make it to Santo Domingo, I'll probably pop in for a visit on a busy night, then ignore it the rest of the time if the busy night isn't good.

When I originally read this post, I thought Gooch was referring to the open-air bar on the corner, but now I see he was referring to the place that is now called La Parada Night Club or a building south of the Night Club, I'm not sure which.
Here's a picture of the open-air bar where you turn right. This is La Parada Cerveceria.

La Parada Night Club is permanently closed. The building is still there but it's empty.
