The Copa Discoteque is a small dance club that is part of the Melia Santo Domingo Hotel on the Malecon (Avenida George Washington) between Calle Socorro Sanchez and Avenida Pasteur. Supposedly this is a place you can pick up freelancers or casa ladies after they finish their work at the casas, but the weekend night I went I didn't notice any ladies that appeared to be working. If the ladies I saw there were working, with the exception of one, I wasn't really impressed. I didn't notice anything really unique about this place to set it apart from other dance places. I didn't stay long enough to order a drink, so I can't comment on prices, either. There are a few cabs that park out front at night in the event you do find a date there and want to bring her back to your hotel.
The hotel casino is supposed to be hunting grounds for freelancers, too. I did spot a couple hot ladies in there, but they were fully engrossed in table games.
My one and only visit to these places was around 1:30am, which I believe should have been a prime time for working freelancers.

There's a taxi driver named Fabio that hangs out in front of Copa Disco at night. I personally have little interest in taxi touts, but if I did, I'd probably go with Fabio. He seems to know a lot about the P4P scene in Santo Domingo. He explained to me that he was one of the few taxi drivers allowed to park in front of Copa Disco because he had a good reputation and no complaints from people to the hotel or disco. I had no personal experience with him taking me anywhere, but I noticed we wasn't obnoxiously aggressive like a lot of taxi drivers and his story seemed credible to me. Fabio has a lighter skin tone. I thought he looked Puerto Rican. His hair is also kind of funky, like an oddly shaped afro.

Copa Discoteque has been renamed to Pure. I heard there have been fewer freelancers and they don't get started until late so I never made it during the evening on my recent trip.
