How shall I get to Cuba if I go through Mexico? I will be coming from Arizona. I would assume you go through Cancun or Monterrey. How much will a ticket cost from Mexico? Can I make a reservation ahead of time? What do I have to worry about? I have heard about Americans getting busted and increased enforcement. How do people usually get caught? Where should I go if I have only a week or less? Thank you in advance.

I flew TJ to Mexico City to Havana.Cost around $700 on Mexicana.Did not make a reservation, just bought my ticket at the airport.A week or less I would stay in Havana. Miramar area of Havana is a good section and has alot of places to stay.

They can obtain the records from the airlines that proved that you traveled there.

The U.S. can check the records of flights originating in Mexico?

Why not? Foreign governments can cooperate on stuff like this. And considering the fact the Bush administration is now dedicating anti-terrorism resources to keep you out of Cuba, it may be nothing more than a simple request to the government of Mexico or Canada to obtain plane records and passenger manifests.
