Courtyard Marriott
#50-A Avenue Maximo Gomez
La Esperilla
809-685-1010
Hola. RT here.
This is your standard Courtyard Marriott, down to the last detail.
When I checked in tonight, I asked the front desk guy what would happen when I came back later with my girlfriend, once I figured out who she was that night. He told me that it was no problem, they just check her ID when we get in. No charge.
The room is clean, the air conditioning is cold and the pillows are fluffy. All for a AAA rate of $94, plus all of the taxes, I presume.

Yep - Courtyard is Guest Friendly. Stayed there last week .. no problem.
In fact, it is convenient to Remington Palace so pick out your girl and back to the Courtyard. They sell condoms at the front desk if you are caught short. The girl has to sign in and you have to sign a form assuming responsibility if she steals the TV or something like that.

Hey Cold. RT here. I am in Lima right now, but I will be home starting Monday night.
I saw your PR experience elsewhere, so I knew you were out and about.
Drop me an email: rtgooch@mail.com We can watch the Heat one night, if you want.

Well, I checked into the Courtyard, and checked out about an hour later. They just redid the rooms and in their infinite wisdom, they went out and bought a batch of new firm mattresses. Alas, they decided to not buy box springs and instead using particle board on the beds with the mattresses on top. I spent two years sleeping in a loft freshman and sophomore years in college and back then, a hard matress on a piece of wood was ok but I figure a night in the Courtyard beds would do me in. So, off to the very-chica-unfriendly Renaissance Jaragua, where the guy told me 10 seconds after I arrived "I know you're Marriott Platinum but I can't make a security exception for you...."
Looks like my Santo Domingo trip is off to a rousing start.

Any updates on this place? Anyone been there in the past few months? Still guest friendly? Thanks.

I stayed at this hotel in March and June. It's a great place and exactly what you would expect from a Courtyard Marriott in the US. They have good security who will watch out for you but won't get in your way. In-room safe and wired internet connection in the room are great too. Wireless connection in the lobby.
There is no guest charge for bringing a girl to the room. They sell beverages and other items (condoms) at the pantry next to the front desk and have room service available until 11pm.
You will have to sign your guest in and they will make a copy of her ID.
This place is less than a 5 minute drive to Casa Modelo.

Translaterdude...thanks for the mini report. can you let us know some more about the talent in SD? I think Dominican women are terrific, despite what other Hombres think. would you mind elaborating and posting some photos?....thanks...JR
