Going down to DR for the first time... Recently back from Costa Rica (San Jose and Jaco)... Having difficulty deciding whether to do the all inclusive resort thing at Boca Chica or setup shop in Santo Domingo (end of March) Please help...

I went to the DR last summer, stayed in Santo Domingo, had a native guide to take us to the good places--I think I would have had a much better time at one of the north shore resorts, from what I read on this board about them. Especially since I like the beach.

Really depends on what you like. In SDQ it is a VERY late crowd. There is almost no mongering before 3pm. All though there is much to see and do. In BC it is rundown and lately BC is going through it's normal shutdown mode. Many of the disco's and bars are closed. But still plenty of girls and a terific beach. You can always take a car into SDQ from BC for the evening. You will most definetly find more beautiful women in SDQ

IMNSHO - it's a no-brainer go to SDQ
