Want others to post info on this little country.

Best place is Campo Allegre just a few miles east of the airport near the Holland Hotel. Lots of Colombianas there. They are allowed in country for 3 months then must return home so there are always a lot of new faces.

Actually, this should be moved under the Carribbean heading.

Just got back from 5 days of great diving & of course Campo Allegre. There were at least 250 or more chicas from Dominica & Columbia. The going rate was US $30 or NAF $50 which at 1.8 to 1 exchange rate was $27 US Dollars. The Chicas ranged from butt ugly to very hot.... from light skinned blondes to very dark skined brunettes. Standard proceedure either hangout at the bar till something you like walks by or stroll around the buildings. I tried to count the number of rooms but always got side tracked. The room numbers go from the 100s to over 500. The place is really
big, you have to see it to understand. Sex is basicly 30 minutes of what ever you negoiate, but I was never rushed and several invited me to rest for a while. Spanish even a little is a must. I have only finished the basic pimsleur spanish and got along great. The closest Hotel to the camp is Hotel Holland(US$56.00 night) not a 5 star resort by any means but clean room, decent Bar & Casino & a excellent place to meet local people(who are very friendly). Alot of the guests were from amsterdam. I moved there from a Dive resort to be a closer to the action. I would recomend a rental car to see the island.

I am curious what is the take out situation. Can the girls leave and come to your hotel?
By Sandman on Thursday, March 27, 2003 - 02:20 pm: Edit |
Sman-they can go out of their own accord but must be back by 6:00PM or they are fined so it is only daytime opportunities; and, they must be discrete about their departures.
There is no take out from the place per se.
Read my Curacao trip report. It isn't a place to travel for mongering alone but if you find yourself there for other activities; fishing, diving, sightseeing or business, it is good to know where to go.
Campo is the hot spot on the island. It is literally a compound surrounded by 10' high walls. 150-200 chicas from D.R. and Colombia. Everything from butt ugly (whats worse than Coyote Ugly) to some pretty fine stuff.
I would not encourage going there just for hobbying though. I'll take Rio!
The local ladies hate the place. Their guys go there, fall in love and divorce them for a hottie.
I've still got my eye on your Buzios gal...ya bastard.....! I'll keep ya posted on our April trip and give her your regards...ha ha ha!

I was interested in Curacao, primarily as a diving destination and a hobby destination second, which means I'll probably never go. If you don't lay off me, Im going to buy a ticket to Rio in April just to protect my innocent little sweetie from you, ya old letch!
By Sandman on Friday, March 28, 2003 - 09:08 am: Edit |
S-man-from one ole lech to another, come on down! Now, since I know you can't, I think the offer to keep an eye on her from a fellow lech was very generous...ha ha ha ha!
Don't worry, I'll make sure she knows you are the favorito and I am just a "pinch" hitter.....!
I am getting excited here buddy!

I plan to go to curacao in the near future and do not speak a word of spanish. Will I have a hard time of it at the Camp allegro when I go there. Is the Holland Hotel the closest place to Campo. I will probably stay there for about 3 days. Any more info for this destination would be appreciated. The info furnished is very helpful. I was wondering which of the travel on line sites would be the best to book a trip there. Thanks guys.
By Sandman on Friday, September 19, 2003 - 02:32 pm: Edit |
Holland is closest to Campo. It will save you a bundle in Taxi fares (which are expensive all over the island)
If you go anywhere else, like to the beach or to town you will pay a high price for taxis to those destinations.
Your question should be. Am I there just to monger or do I have other activities I need to do.
If it is only to monger, stay at Holland. If you have other business, stay closer to downtown.
Of course, I can't imagine selecting Curacao as a purely mongering destination.
Yes, you will have problems communicating if you do not speak a little Spanish. You will not have trouble scoring or sessioning at Campo because it is all about fucking there in the first place.
Use hand signals....LOL

How is the parking situation at campo allegre as I plan to rent a car when I arrive there. I plan to do some diving and mongering while there. I want to look over the place also to see if it is someplace I want to travel in the future.

Ok, I just returned from the island and just wanted to share a few thoughts with fellow travelers on this board. I am not going to re-post the obvious, such as what Campo is, etc.I will only try to give an update.
So, in a short format, this is what i LIKED:
1. Campo is still fully functional, is clean and seemed safe to me.
2. The value for the money is unbeatable. The standard rate is 50 NAF. That's $28.
3. Though I did not see any 9's and 10's on MY scale (but that's to be expected, I like the taller, bigger northern blonde) - lots of 7's and 8's. Very few really ugly girls.
4. Local people are generally friendly.
5. THIS IS IMPORTANT, I DO BELIEVE. Most of the girls will provide good service, they really care about repeat business. I was told that they are charged NAF90 per day for their cabins. They have to buy condoms and clothes themselves, and pay for the laundry. Based on this the customer is pretty much always right at the Campo. However, the girls REALLY appreciate if you are nice to them, if you at least attempt to talk to them before going for the action. Small acts of kindness pay VERY large dividends.
If you like a particular girl, you may want to offer her a ride the next day, since they do not have cars there, to take her to town, or to the beach. This will not cost you any significant sums of money but WILL BE REPAID tenfold. The girls need to be back by 6 pm. Management gets really upset if they are not.
Also, Spanish. Of all the girls I talked to only ONE had enough English to carry on a conversation - of sorts. Even "how are you?" is rare. Most of these chicas know "fucky-fucky" and "sucky-sucky", which to me is a bit of a turn-off, reminds me of a cheap Vietnamese whore from "Full metal Jacket". By the time I go again I will have taken a Spanish class.
What I DID NOT LIKE:
1. The infrastructure on the island is third-rate. The roads are full of potholes except for the newer part that is an expressway of sorts and runs around the oil refinery into Willemstad. The last time the lanes were marked was probably 1975.
2. Even though Campo is clean, it is BY NO MEANS a 5-star resort as they claim. The main hall does not have a/c, drink selection is abysmal, the same crappy music is repeated ad nauseam. They could make so much more $$$ if they accepted credit cards and introduced some kind of token system. Otherwise, you continously have to run to the nearest ATM. You would think they would have one on site, but no such luck.
I was at Campo 3 nights in a row, they had 2 power failures. One was massive, half the compound went pitch black.
2. Telephones on Curacao suck! Payphones will not accept coins, you have to buy cards which can become pretty expensive. Many lines are down, which brings me to
3. CREDIT CARDS. Even though an establishment may have "VISA-MC_AMEX ACCEPTED HERE" signs in the windows, it by no means is guaranteed. Due to phone line problems I could not use my cards even in main tourist restauarants on Handelskade. You have to carry cash, incur ATM fees, etc.
4. Gas stations. No concept of "Full tank on pump 7, please". You MUST tell the attendant HOW MUCH you want to pump. Cash only, or a local debit card. Since I had no idea what kind of tank my rental car had, it was trial and error. Very annoying.
FInally, the beaches. IT IS worth your time to drive out of Willemstad, and go to the more secluded ones. I did, just to get away from tourists. Found a beautiful public beach, free of charge, with 4 people on it.
Hopefully this helps. Armed with this knowledge, I know I will go back!

My report above is a reprint of what I posted on WSA in August. Has anyone been to Curacao after 1/1/04? I think this was the day when the entry fee was going to change. I am interested to see how it works out with Campo dollars and all.

This seems to be a nice place to snorkle and dive. I am planning a trip to either Costa Rica or Curacao in the middle of April. Will try to make up my mind soon. Does anyone know which place has the best diving. I am at an age where mongering is second to my other activities.

October 2004
Curacao is a small island of about 140 000, off the north coast of Venezuela, northwest of Caracas. The island is a self-coverning protectorate of Holland. Prostitution is legal , and regualted by the government.
Location:
Campo, also known as La Mirage (actually that is the name of the bar in the "camp") is literally steps from the international airport on the north coast of the island - well, a few minutes drive...if you are in a real hurry just turn right as you come out of the airport (east for those who are good with a compass). Campo will be on a side street off to your left, but you just need to look for the huge green neon sign in the shape of a palm tree. The capital city is on the south coast, built around ahuge, natural harbour. From town, it will be anywhere from a 12-20minute drive out to the airport area, but Curacao really is a small island. Taxis are readily available until around 11pm, then it might be a bit more difficult to get one. Taxis are a bit expensive, and the ride from a major hotel or anywhere in the downtown should cost you around US$20 (taxis are not metered or anything, so you might have an argument on your hands). I suppose a major hotel will be able to find you a taxi any time to take you out there. If you are there late, there are some drivers there running private cars back to town, but their cost might be a bit different from the licenced taxis.
Setup:
Campo was once an old army base, and has been converted into a huge open air brothel. If you are driving, there is a parking lot in front of the main gates, and I suppose the VIPs can actually park inside the gates themselves. Visitors must pay US$6 to get in, and are searched for weapons (and cameras) upon entry. As you walk into the interior of the compound, directly in front of you is the bar, where you can buy drinks and watch shows, or lounge on some dirty couches. Off to the side of the bar is the restaurant. The rows and rows of barracks around the bar have been converted into individual rooms for the girls.
Girls:
The girls are mainly from Columbia and the D.R. (I didn't meet any Venezuelan girls there, oddly). The columbian girls tend to be fairer skinned (they are latinas), while the DR girls are black. there are girls of every shape and size there, from the plastic surgery inflated ones to mothers in their forties (but the one i saw was stunning, didn't look anything near forty). Most of the girls are in their 20s. They are there under goverment regulations, and are permitted to stay for a maximum of three months. The STANDARD rate for short time ie up to 30 mins. (there is supposed to be no exceptions/discounts) is US$30, or 50 guilders/florins in the local currency, payable directly to the girl. The girls are actually charged a daily "rent" for their room of about US$55, plus whatever expenses they have for their daily needs, so they keep whatever extra they make. The M.O. of the place is that it is open 24hours a day, but generally the girls start working at 6/7pm, until whenever they want to call it a night (usually when the sun comes up). Simply, it is more active at night, but you can go there any time. The girls are not allowed out during the night, unless you are willing to pay a high fine to the brothel of about US$400+. However the girls are free and often very willing to take trips during the day. It is possible to negotiate pretty much anything there, if you try hard enough...
I was there four or five times during my short stay. I did notice some peculiarities about the place. The way things seem to work is that the girls roam the compound, dropping by their friends rooms, or hang out at the bar, mostly in pairs or threes, sometimes more. Some will holler at you when you go by, most don't, or at least are not aggressive about it (they wait for eye contact or some sign). Some give the impression of not really caring about your existence (reminds me of the RLDs in Korea). But of course there is a hierarchy of sorts to the customers, not really defined, ut still visible. Most girls do not really like the local men, from what I heard, not that they decline them or anything. There are many Venezuelans who come there, for business or holiday, and they can chat up the girls easily (the Spanish thing). I saw many times that the girls were engaged in long conversations with some men, only to have it end by one or the other walking away. The fact that the girls can spend a long time talking to the Venezuelan men doesn't diminish the interest in the Westerners - a white tourist will get the most attention, hands down. For me, not being white, but certainly not looking local, it was kind of a luke-warm response, unless i was willing to start talking first. But there really isn't anything more to it than approaching the girl you like, and either dismissing her when her attitude shows up (some of the do have it, you know the type i mean, giving you the feeling that she would rather be anywhere else than talking to you), or making the short walk back to her room.
I went with a different girl for the first few nights, and for all of them it was the same, everything safe. I was most attracted to the columbians, and went with only one DR girl. All were not espcially rushed, but it can really be a hit or miss thing with the girls...in terms of their approachability and their performance...it was fun, but not great, despite the fact that the columbians i was with were all shaved. I did run into one girl, only 22, who spoke good english, and I spent my last few visits with her. Even she was a bit difficult to approach in the beginning, but you show even the smallest bit of sincerity and kindness and it goes a long way. I ended up spending an afternoon at the beach with her, we talked a bit, and I bought her a few groceries on my last day. I spent more money on her outside of the place than inside...but then, I wasn't asking her for sex when she was out with me. It might be different if you are asking the girl to go to your hotel with you during the day. She told me some stories about what had happened to her in her short time there; one American man asked her how much it would cost to spend the day and night with her, and when she said US$800 (a figure she arrived at by counting the hours), he paid her up front and came back the next day for her. He took her out for the day as well, took her around with him, then spent some time in her room until his flight the next morning (I guess Campo can be a pretty convenient airport hotel). Another customer was on cocaine or something, and the girls like that because generally they are big spenders...this guy took her to her room, had her strip down to white g-string and heels, and spent a few hours with her. He went to the bathroom to do his coke, and came back out. He had her parade around the room for him, dropping US$100s on the bed from time to time. He had sex with he only once, left a few hours later, leaving her $1200 richer. So pretty much anything can happen there, but the main thing to realize you are a big factor in how things go there, Depending on what you are out for.
Interesting side notes:
The girl i spent some time talking to told me her next stop was going to be St. Maarten, where she felt she could make more money. She said she was from Bogota, and apparently the recruiting is very active and well organized down there. I met a Columbian girl working in Trinidad a few years ago, also from Bogota, also having spent some time in the Dutch Caribbean, but also in Italy, Switzerland, and even Japan.
From time to time the issue closing down Campo surfaces - in the summer there was a brief closing because the gov't alleged some of the columbian girls were there illegally. It wasn't the police who closed Campo, however, it was the owners, out of protest. At the moment, I believe that the owner is in jail in curacao on tax charges (or some other financial offence), and so the talk was of closing it down again...but it never happens. Campo will remain, at the end of the runway, a sea of pink and purple neon brighter than the runway lights.

I do not know how you beat Curacao for cheap girls. I come here about once a month for a business and there are always 100 to 150 girls for $30 a pop. Campo Allegra (which is also known as Mirage) is amazing. $6 to get in, beer is reasonably priced and on some night they have a floor show. Almost any girl will take $30 and some will take less (a few argue for more, like $40). It is best to speak a little Spanish as many don't speak a word of English. From Hato airport turn left and in about 3 to 5km you will see a sign on your left. Do not be put off by the pain parkinglot, behind the door are many young girls.

No posts on this place in a while? I've just booked for September and not sure I want to be at this place alone. Anybody know if the camp is still open for business?
By Elgrancombo on Tuesday, September 05, 2006 - 05:03 pm: Edit |
I went there a year ago and had a decent time. However, I wouldn't go to Curacao for mongering alone. I went there to dive. I did that during the day, then went to Campo Allegre in the Evening. There are definitely some good-looking women there and it's pretty cheap, but you really don't want to stay at C. Allegre that long. If you have nothing else to do on the island, you'll get pretty bored.
