I have never been to the DR; I have been to Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Panama, Mexico, Colombia and Peru.

I could go to either Sosua or SD for a 4-5 day vacation soon. Which should I choose?

I would prefer to meet regular girls, but I'm unsure how easy that is in such a short period of time and the fact that I speak limited Spanish (only completed Course 1 of Pimseleur's 3-part course). I am in my late 20s, athletic, fit and guapo.

My second goal is too meet as many "wild" chicas as possible. Sosua seems better for that, but I have been discouraged by their general (not all photos obviously) lack of beauty in photos here and on many other sites.

I guess I am asking where can I meet the largest number of true hotties - Sosua or SD? Or should I just go back to Colombia again? Note: I don't care for the blonde Paisa look of Medellin, but prefer the mestizas and mulattas, so that is why I'm intrigued by the DR, plus its laidback/Caribbean lifestyle.

I have not been to SD only to Sosua. But from the info and experience I got from Sosua I will say that you can score on regular chicas there as long as you either have game, are guapo, are young.

Having said that I think that the regular nicer chicas may need work that will require a bit of time specially if spanish is lacking. But if you are as you describe than hooking up may happen and good looking semi-pros will certainly be at your hand's reach for little or no cash.

The pics on this site or the others should NOT discourage you. In my experience so far looks tend to be better than the average posted...the uglier ones have to be more willing to provide extras and that includes having their picture taken. The women I hooked up in the DR were pretty good looking with a few real lookers in the mix. Lots of mulattas in Sosua.

The nice thing about Sosua is that is concentrated. You can also bolt over to Cabarete which is close by and with plenty of party action.

BUT...based on what I have heard and seen re Colombia I would just go there, certainly if I had to decide bet the DR and Colombia. I think others have mentioned that the mulatta look can be found in Cartagena. The DR is cheaper for accommodations and food but the food sucks (at least in Sosua) and other than the beach in Sosua there is notthing more.

SD is a huge sprawling congested city with essentially nothing to see or do of interest. There are no immediate beaches or scenic areas. Sosua is surrounded by poster perfect scenery that looks like something out of a travel magazine. It is really a case of day and night. Unfortunately, the quality of the women are completely reversed. Flip a coin and have a good time where ever you end up staying.

I enjoyed Sosua a lot and had no trouble having fun with locals and flirting to my hearts content. Amazing since I only know about 50 spanish words...

I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a couple day relaxation retreat-- once the dollar strengthens...

Thanks for the quick and insightful replies. Concarne, yes I know first hand how great the mulattas of Cartagena can be. I think the beat their blonde, fair-skinned Paisas cousins hands down. I also know how pictures can be misleading. I used to travel for business (I was in Hong Kong) to Manila for several years and the actual Filipinas are considerably more attractive than the pictures on this site or others would indicate. However, it is still reassuring to receive confirmation of that. A lot of tough choices: SD, Sosua or back to Colombia - too bad I don't have the dinero to just visit all of them all of the time.

Just save your cash and join me in the SEA adventure in LOS, Cambo and Laos at the end of the year....mostly Cambo. $$ should go a long way there...

Ahh...but how I wish to go to Colombia!
