I'm going to the north coast next month and I want to know how much is Cabarete worth checking out? Is it worth it to stay there for a few days or would it be better to just visit during the day/night and go back to Puerto Plata or Sosua?

Cabarete is a world class destination for windsurfing/kitesurfing - not mongering. If you already have a girl then it's a great little place to hang out. But food can be a little pricey with some prices approaching European prices. Otherwise...stick to Sosua/Plata for the chicas. There is a bar in town for pickups but the quality is terrible. The best one would be 1.5 out of 10.

I went there solo in early Dec 2007. The only place to go is "Bambu", a little bar right on the water. They have an expensive Irish bar, if you can believe it called Jose O'Shea's if I remember. Nice hangout buy pricy. You can eat pretty cheap at a German owned place 200 yards east. Absolutely everything is located right on the beach. I banged this morena farm girl and did her sister at the same time on one night. I'm going to Sosua next month for a change of pace and might go back for one or 2 nights
