I will be in Barbados on business in the near future. I have seen no hobby info on the net. Anyone have any comments ?

A couple of guys were good enough to pass on some info about Barbados. I thought I would amend with my impressions and post it here.

First of all this is not a p4p destination. If you end up here and want to pursue things of this nature read on.

The options appear to be high end escorts (not my thing), drunk Americanas and Brits (not my thing), and a low end red light district (usually not my thing). Being of a curious nature I checked out the later on two occasions and will probably save my pennies for weekend trips to Santo Domingo, Saint Martin, and Trinidad in the future.

The red light district is located in an area known as Nelson Street. It is just south and east of downtown Bridgetown. Hire a cab in downtown Bridgetown to give you a tour. Do not walk in. Barbados is very safe, but this area is not.

My readings indicated that the Copacabana Club was the best place to go. It is located on the coastal street that leads from Bridgetown to the Southern area. It is on the right side of the street going away from Bridgetown. The Nelson Street area starts about a block up and goes north for about 1/2 mile.

I walked over to the Copacabana from the Boat Yard (well known bar) which is about 1/4 mile west on the same street. It was 9:00 on a Wednesday night. The club had just opened. There were 4 bored whores and 8 ornery looking local guys. One of the girls was a pretty Trini that had recently arrived. I talked to her for a while and went to the room with her. It is 50 BBD for straight sex and 100 for more options and stuff. BBD are 2 to 1 to US$.

The experience was very poor. The rooms are small and uncomfortable. The girls are not that pretty and are into a get em up and get em off approach. I tried the Copacaban one more time on a Sunday night. For some reason, like other Caribbean islands in the area, Sunday is party night on Barbados. On Sunday at 9:00 there were 6 girls (1 a 7 (the Trini), the rest much lower) and about 25 guys in this bar. I got a lot of you don't belong here looks. I am not the paranoid type and walk most everywhere in TJ as an example. I left.

I hired a taxi to tour the rest of Nelson Street. This is low end hooker stuff and you probably need a driver to keep with you in here. I saw nothing that interested me and as an explorer had no desire to return under these circumstances.

All in all, Barbados (like any former British colony) is a poor choice for p4p activities.

Okay, here's the deal.

As someone who has been traveling to Barbados since I was a child, I can say that while I love the island for the beaches and the heavenly Mount Gay Rum, my little paradise is NOT the place for adult fun. I have to concur with the previous post.

At one point a couple of years ago, I owned a small bar and restaurant there and lived for a few months. Zip, zero, zilch. Nada. Every once in awhile, you might pick up something on the low-end streetwalker side after dark on the road that circles the racetrack (Garrison Savannah). But unless you know the island fairly well, this is not a great alternative. All in all, I'm turning my attention more toward the DR and Bangkok, both trips I have made this year with great results.

i agree with the last two posts.I have been there twice on business and as nice as the island is, its no real place for p4p.
The only time i saw any girls that were in the business is when i was on the beach. I was propasitioned 3 times on my last trip. Two of them were very beautiful, the other not so much.
I did not take them up on the offer because i was about 5 miles down the beach from where my hotel was and i had lil or no $$ on me at the time.
Also the bigger clubs down near the port are a good way to meet local women. I have gottten a number and some heavy firting from one lady, but declined the opertunity to go back with her friends to there apt(3 guys one other lady).
I will be going back in may for some more business, and i will post anyhting if i happen to find some worth while girls.

In the 1970's the P4P scene in Barbados was very active with ladies from the DR, Colombia and even Brazil. All that has changed.

The last time I was there was in 1996 and it was dead by then.
