Nice but pricey. On the Malecon, 80 USD a nite.
Has casino, bar, restaurant, pool. Doorman says no problem with chicas, but they need their cedula/ID's. Front rooms facing sea and Malecon are noisy.

I stayed here my first night in Santo Domingo. The staff was friendly and service was good. They have 24 hr computer access (which I didn't use) in an office to the left of the registration desk if you need it.
The rooms and decor were nice and I had a a wonderful ocean view, but they made poor choices in bedspreads and curtains, including those in the hall. The gaudy color reminded me of the gaudy bedspreads in the otherwise excellently decorated Torres de Alba Apart-Hotel in Panama.
The hotel is guest-friendly and will collect cedula (identification) from the lady before allowing her upstairs. You might want to confirm your lady has hers before taking her out of a club or casa, although as an alternative you could always take her to a cabana.
Total cost for the night I spent there was $89 US including all taxes and some chips from the mini-bar. The mini-bar was one of the most well-stocked I have ever seen, they even had a disposable flash camera.
Some touts and taxi drivers may be hanging nearby. I generally found them very annoying, but good to have taxi drivers around if you need to get somewhere quickly. Be sure to agree on a price before entering the cab, fares as of this time should be 100 pesos or less to most destinations.

Vladimir; Thanks a lot for the info, real good and making me wonder i should pay a visit to Santo Domingo.///

Just back and no real complaints except the noise on the Malecon. It was convient to the colonial zone and walking distance along the Malecon for several restaurants. Even walked to Remingtons from here one night.
89 a nite with free breakfast.
They also charged 10 dollar a nite fee for overnight guest, and as mentioned make sure the girl has her ID.
First night, my girlfriend for the nite and I went to the bar first, and the security followed and informed me, as we were going towards the elevator that she needed to present her ID.

89 usd A nite included breakfast.
Malecon rooms are noisy, and dont think the side rooms could be any less noisy.
10 dollar fee for chicas, plus they need to present their ID.
My first love of my nite there, and I went to the bar first, upon leaving towards the elevator the security guard made sure she presented her cedula to the desk clerk. It is advisable to enquire with your girl before hand that she have her id.
Like walking the Malecon towards the Jaragua, and the little open air typ cafes and bars along the way. Also did a walk to Remingtons. But while walking there, dont think would walk back after having a few drinks.
Here is another view of the Napolitano, that I took while walking the Malecon!
After posting, I realized that they have had a little face lift on the outside
notice the trim colors on the deck
