I plan on burning some frequent flyer miles to San Diego. How do I get to the trolley from there?

Easiest way is the city bus for $2 to the America Plaza station(I think). The bus driver will tell you. Get a transfer from him as that works on the trolley. It will take about a hour or so to make the total trip to San Ysidro.

Chud,
Exit San Diego Airport and look either right or left. There are two bus stops and they are located on the extreme right or left. The name of the bus is the San Diego Airporter. It is the only bus that comes there and you can identify it by a huge red airplane logo by the door. Pay the $2 and get a transfer.
Jump on the bus and take it to the American Plaza trolley station. It's very close to the airport. Maybe 1/2 to 1 mile away. Jump on the red trolley that says "San Ysidro/Tijuana" with your transfer. The trolley will dead end in San Ysidro.
That's it.
