This place is located on the corner of Coahuila Alley and Constitucion. A ficha bar with almost continous strippers; ficha beers cost 35 pesos.

The girls are extremely friendly, but rarely go the hotel. There is no attached hotel to this bar, so management is at best uninterested in the working chicas leaving the bar with a client. Note that some of the chicas hanging out in front of the Hotel Najera will drop in to work at this bar when things get slow.

RIP-OFF ALERT: around shift change (8 pm), sometimes waiters won't return with your change. They will take your bill and go home.

By Mongerman on Monday, March 05, 2001 - 09:44 am:  Edit

Explorer:

I have had virtually the same experience in this place.
OK, so the beers are cold, I like the concept of "continuous strippers", but I find a lot of the time in this place they are on an average scale at best.

I have been there during afternoon hours so, have yet to experience the "rip off"

Well, when you only pay 35 pesos for a chica drink, the quality of the chicas won't be what it is at the 58 peso bars.

But, I have to admit that the Hacienda Bar chicas certainly know how to warm up to a guy.

By Xkansan on Tuesday, March 06, 2001 - 03:43 pm:  Edit

I've been there a few times in the early evening on Fridays. It can be really smokey, they should get an exhaust fan.

Continuous strippers, typical mex routine ;^)

Once a low-life type waiter tried to palm my change, otherwise I like the dump. Chicas all smile, and some wander in and out.

By Progman on Tuesday, March 06, 2001 - 09:23 pm:  Edit

Hacienda is normally my first stop when I get to La Zona. You can't beat the 2x1 beer prices all the time. Most of the dancers are average at best, with the occasional hottie. For a while there were several girls (including really cute ones) that would dance completely nude. Something funny always seems to happen there. Last Saturday, while this cubby dancer was on her first song, an old drunk hopped onto the stage and started dancing and swinging around the pole. He quickly collapsed then was tossed out of the bar. I've never had problems with the waiters ripping me off. I always make sure they know that I will pay $3.00 to the 25 pesos for the two beers. They always bring back the correct change. The one trick they do try is to give me one of my $1.00 in coins. I take all the paper and leave them the coins. They do hussle a little too hard for the girls. I get at least three or four waiters approach me to buy a chica a drink. Finally, %99.99 of the chicas WILL NOT go to the hotel with you. The ones that do typically don't even ask you to buy them drinks. They show up in their street clothes (blue jeans) and sit very close to the entrance. If nobody approaches them within 5 minutes they take off... prog

By Explorer8939 on Wednesday, March 07, 2001 - 05:16 pm:  Edit

Really, apart from the lower prices, the only good thing about the Hacienda is that the chicas are really friendly, as long as you buy them beers.

One word of caution: never, never buy them a bucket of five, no matter how much they ask you to. The moment they see you buy the bucket, and they get their fichas, they will lose interest in you, run to the ladies room for 15 minutes, whatever it takes to either get rid of you, or if they think you'll buy them another bucket, they will chug the 5 pony beers, and ask you to buy another bucket (after 15 minutes in the ladies room throwing up).

By Progman on Thursday, March 08, 2001 - 09:47 am:  Edit

Interesting piece of advise. I actually don't buy these chicas too many drinks. I usually hang around for the floor show then I'm off to other bars.

By Porker on Thursday, March 08, 2001 - 11:36 pm:  Edit

Re: the bucket: Or pour them on the floor when you're not looking. Don't laugh, I have seen it more than once.

By Redongdo on Thursday, June 07, 2001 - 06:19 pm:  Edit

Hey!

I popped in there last Tues night for shits and giggles...just to see if I could buck the trend and get a chica to Cascadas.

I sit at the bar, not much happening and it seems most of the girls are with guys. I spot one sitting with her amiga near the front and she comes over, I offer to buy her a beer and she orders from the bartender. First thing he does is plop down a bucket fulla beers and I say "uh uh" to that shit...he takes it back and brings back a pony beer and says it's 5 bucks! I point to the sign that says 35 pesos for the ladies drinks and he tells me the exchange rate is 8 pesos to the dollar and I say no the exchange rate is 9 pesos to the dollar...he says "here it is 8" ok...so I give him the five bucks..no tip. As I'm talking to the chica and get around to the hotel she seems to be saying yes but wants another drink...I buy her one more and we talk some more...but it's obvious that it's not going to happen...when she wants another one I tell her sure, when we get to my room...she says "bye bye" and that was that. I left, a beaten man.

Happens to just about everyone who sets foot in Hacienda and Carreta.

By Redongdo on Friday, June 08, 2001 - 05:31 pm:  Edit

I've actually had pretty decent luck at Carreta, when you can find something you can stomach. I didn't mind getting the run-a-round re: going to my room since it's been well reported (and a hearty gracias to Explorer) and I went in with the intention of taking on the challenge. Getting overcharged on the drinks when everything is clearly posted pissed me off more. No more of that place for me.

By Reytj on Saturday, September 22, 2001 - 01:22 pm:  Edit

After an absence of many months I spent some time hanging out early saturday night. I noticed immediately that the drink prices aren't posted and was wondering if I would be the target of a scam. That didn't turn out to be the case. A 'chile' and two for one Tecates came to a total of 70 pesos. Don't pay more.

hi rey tj

i used to come here once in a while but the waiters would try to rip you off left right and center.
do you remember my thread on this when i bought a girl a drink , the loser filled it up only half way , then i told him to fill it up all the way and he wanted to charge me for 2 drinks ?
that was the final straw for this place !!
hotties come and go here.

Who did you drink with and hows the selection?

By Masterbates on Monday, February 25, 2002 - 06:32 am:  Edit

The biggest turn off about this place, are the hoardes of waiters standing out on the sidewalk screaming into your ear in an effort to get you to go inside. I've been inside a few times and each time I visited the place, I got stiffed for overpriced drinks.

RE: drink prices

Last two times I've been in there, a few months ago, they did have the drink price sign up, but still tried to charge me more. After actually getting up and pointing to the price, the waiter still shook his head (and the bartender too) saying that price was wrong. Why the hell's it up there then? The difference was like .50cents, but still. Must be why they took it down. I walked out both times without paying and haven't been back since.

Lots of waiters standing on the corner to pull you in. Watch for the 8:00-8:30pm shift change. The floor show which consists of the girls dancing/stripper happens frequently. Most of the girls are on the heavy side for my tastes but most of them are friendly. Some like to dance. Some like to make out. Some will go to a hotel. Some of these girls are pretty good at the ficha drink hustle.

Had an offer for the back room again so I asked to see what it was like. The good news is that it is private. Too small to have a bed. No cushions. It is the small storage/break room behind the bar. It is sorta divided in to two small areas but basically it has a small built-in bench with a table and a little more room extended. The room is pretty small. No shower. No sink.

Prices are interesting. The two girls that I was with were amigas and were trying to convince me to take the two of them to the room. Last week I was quoted the price of the room as one bucket of beer plus whatever I negotiated with the girls. This week I was quoted one fixed fee. Well, until the guy behind the bar figured out that the girls were trying to wrap up a two girl special. So I got offered several different prices.

The basic price is in pesos. 350. That included the room and the girl. So they decided that was $32 dollars. But for me, since I am such a nice guy they might consider 300 pesos or $28. Double that for two girls. But the girls started at $80 for the two of them with the room and came down to $70 for the two of them plus the room for a long time. The basic pesos rate was for 30 minutes but they might let the clock run a few minutes longer for me. The room is included in the price. The guy this time said the guy last time had it all wrong. I did not have to buy a bucket to get the room. In fact, the price quoted would included free drinks for me. Anyway, I got so many different prices in the few minutes that I was talking with them, I am not sure they have used it enough to standardize the price yet. Part of the problem seemed to be that no one really knew the price plus if they did know the price, they knew the price in pesos only. Then they had to figure out what that was in dollars. I got lots of different quotes but they were all around the same approximate numbers. YMMV.

I declined the room. Bar fee to take two girls out of the bar to a hotel was $10 total for the two girls. I assume that means $5 each girl. Anyway, I declined to take the girls to the room for tonight. I decided just to gather information for the future. All prices seem to be flexible.

I was getting charged $5 for the chica drinks.

Bottom line: Hacienda is a 'diddle' bar. You pay for beers for chicas and you can diddle with them. Rarely will a chica go to the hotel, that's not the point of the place.

Think of it as a warm up for AB or other bars that have attached hotels.

Diddle Bar - hahahahha
That was funny and true.

Pay the barfine and you'll be amazed at how many will go to the hotel. How much time have you spent in the Zona, Explorer? You sure don't seem to be very adventurous. Why don't you change your handle to TIGHTFISTEDBLOWHARD?

By Explorer8939 on Sunday, May 05, 2002 - 08:52 am:  Edit

Porker:

It doesn't do anyone else any good if I state that chicas from HB will go to the hotel if you pay the $5 bar fine, because most of them won't.

My understanding is that most of the chicas work at HB because they have an understanding with their novios that they can play, but can't go to the hotel. So, no matter how much whining the monger engages in, no matter how much beer you buy them, their goal is not to go to the hotel. This isn't to say that its impossible, just unlikely.

On the other hand, if you look at this place as a place to play around, then it can be great.

By Porker on Sunday, May 05, 2002 - 10:29 am:  Edit

MOST OF THEM WON'T??? Greater than 50% of Hacienda chicas won't go the hotel for any price? BULLSHIT!!!

And regarding their 'understandings' with their 'novios', isn't it also your (very, very tired) theory that most novios will break out the whooping stick if their bitches don't bring home enough tocino?

Why don't you compare notes with Tomas sometime on the %'s of girls that WILL or WON'T go from places like Hacienda and Carretta and Playboy and get back to me on your bizarre theories. Maybe you should give some actual useful 100% solid info instead of playing Zona anthrpologist: MOST of the Hacienda chicas won't go to the hotel with YOU!

By Milkman on Sunday, May 05, 2002 - 12:02 pm:  Edit

It Depends on the person and the chica.

A girl that won't go up with one guy might go with the next.

Some of these girls can play guys out so much that they do not need to hit the hotels.

Others will , I tend not to hit the smaller bars anymore since most fuck locals and others - Sin condom. -Fuck that.
Have you seen some of these guys ?
Lucky if they live past their next birthday.
Some guys just have given up on life and do not care about others.

But I agree with Porker on this but again it really depends on the chica and her situation at that time.

Take care

I did ask Tomas. He had a very sad story about this topic not long ago, I won't go into details, but it was costly and not too fruitful for him.

This bar gets crazy at closing time. I happened to walk pass it at the very early morning hours like 5 am or so when all the bars were locking up including this one. One drunk chica from another bar was walking by and looked at me. The doorman said he was locking up and if we wanted to go inside to hurry so I pointed at the bar and the chica and I hurried in. The doorman closed and locked the door behind us. The bar continued to party, continue with the dances as is their custom at an attempt for entertainment, and kept serving beers. I noticed several other girls from other bars there. Must be an inpromtu hang out when everything else is finished for the night. I did not stay long though. The chica I was with was still drinking like a fish. She finished the first beer before the waiter brought me back my change. She was nice and in a friendly mood but I did not feel like filling the pool with beer just so this fish could swim. Too early in the morning for me and I decided to call it a day. Nice fun atmosphere at this club this particular early morning though. Might have stayed longer if the chica was not drinking the Pacificos like shooters.

I was wandering around the zona yesterday giving my wife a tour and as we were walking into Coahuila Alley what looked like two waiters spilled out the door of this place and preceded to beat the crap out of each other right there in front of everyone on the street. Maybe fighting over a tip, I don't know. Of course to me this is entertainment and my wife loved the quaint local charm of the scene. To bad the policeia showed up quickly and hauled the two away. I have never been in there but with waiters like that I will have to check out this place. My wife gave it two thumbs up.

By Astm31 on Sunday, January 19, 2003 - 10:00 pm:  Edit

this bar has the best barkers there is. you can hear them miles away. it intimidates your temperament. it wakes you up. they yell 'check it out'. as soon as you get in, the barker will want you to sit down to drink. thats checking out. if only they can send smoke clouds all the way to chicago or even farther they would. the barkers are uniformed like magicians. they wear an apron and a tag around their neck. about 4 months ago, one of the barkers won the the best waiters award simply having the widest tray. the wider the more cerviza it will take. the more tip it can also contain. his job is an envy of most. all he does is bark, bring beer, expect the dollar tip, bring another un-ordered beer, tells you he got a sister, tells you be careful, bark, reminds of more tip, bark and more. sorry, getting carried away. but it tells you're strangjiero. i love it. astm31

OK here's the Down Low of this spot on........shit I think Friday Oct........the first friday in Oct! It was 4am and still very upbeat. Very different than most bars as it didn't give the feel of a working girls bar. I had fucked a few times and REALLY only wanted a cold beer as I was almost tapped out anyways. To make a long story short, 15 girls from dogs to 8's. There were mostly girls that looked like street girls that were dancing with mostly local clientele. I was asked by the waiters several times if I wanted a girl, and I let them know the situation. 3 Girls asked me to buy them a beer and I declined. There was one girl who was really an 8 or 9. Light skinned and hot. She was hanging out with the DJ most of the night but never approached me. I would size the place up as a good place to go and be picky, but able to get a good GFE. You should be able to speak decent spanish here as I saw them hustle several people who were obviously gringos. Anyways I will hit it up again just to see how it is a little earlier!!!!!

By Explorer8939 on Saturday, April 24, 2004 - 11:01 am:  Edit

A couple of notes here:

1) I think they lowered their drink prices, a brandy is now only 20 pesos. A ficha is still 50 pesos, though.

2) While sitting next to the stage, I handed a mesero a 200 peso bill and made a big deal of that fact. The ubiquitous announcer was on the stage, and announced to the multitudes that I had paid with 200 pesos, but at BH everyone is honest and a waiter would never ever steal money from a customer.

3) Friday afternoon, things were slow. I am getting the impression that the lack of repeat business at BH is killing them.

I usually just stop here to have my first two coronas. I get a taxi at the border and say "adelitas". I pay them.. they drop me off at adelitas door and As the doorman stares in disbelief I grab my friends and head away from adelitas around the corner into the only place I really know in TJ.

$20 a pop and sometimes you actually get a decent lay.. but hey if you got $100 to blow u get 5 chances and I usually get bolder in my pre-"ok-lets-go" requests after the first coupla lays.

By Explorer8939 on Friday, June 09, 2006 - 07:44 pm:  Edit

The Hacienda chicas rarely go to the hotel; the lack of an actual hotel connected to the bar is the first tip-off. The chicas like to lead you on, through dozens of fichas, that is what the bar is famous for.

By Neurosis on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - 12:15 pm:  Edit

Yea I've never boned one of the chicks from the hacienda. I got a few pics of a girl named 'America' omfg shes hot tho. This bar is basically a 'buy me drinks and stuffed animals all night and I will sit with you' type place. Hence.. I just go for a brew and some eye candy to get started.

Seems like their 2 for 1 beers is an all day/night thing. It's a hit or miss place chica-wise.
