"Average" costs are as follows:
Parking at Border: $7
Taxi to Zona Clubs: $5 + $1 tip
Personal drinks: $12 (4 x $3)
Chica drinks: $10/$16 (2 x $5/$8)

Bathroom tips: $1 (4 x .25)
Chica $40-$60 + $10 hotel + $1 cleaner tip
Taxi to Border: $5 + $1 tip
Total: $67 - $123
As you can see, cost will vary depending on whether you tip, how much you drink, how many drinks you buy for girls, and your ability to negotiate. Other mongers here may also provide tips to save money or negotiate better deals.
Other potential expenses include:
Food: $1.50 - $3.00/stand, $5+ sit down
Roses: $1 - $10
Snacks: $1 nuts/candy/etc
Photo: $5

For those who want to go first class.

Stay at Pueblo Amigo hotel-about 95 dollars.
Nice resturant-About 50 dollars for 2.
Cabs-about 20 dollars
Parking-15(overnight)
It will cost about 350-400 dollars for a beautiful night to remember forever.

I figure that I spend $170 to $200 a day in Tijuana...on women and beer.
That's usually 2 to 3 women, and 6 to 10 beers.
I don't include the price of a place to stay because I vary it, but it can cost as low as 22 bucks a night to as high as $60 for me.
Over a period of several years, I've managed to maintain this average.

On elbow day or on low budget, if look not a high priority, AB or CC third tier chica can be had for $20.
Street tacos have gone up in price $2.50 for 3.
Cart hot dogs stay at $1, hamburgers $2.
For taxicab, negotiate price if you want to pay $5 as some drivers are like chicas always wanting more $.
If adventurous, TJ bus to Rev is $0.50, or from U.S. parking lot $1. Adventurous in the sense you have to walk from Rev to ZN thru ratero central, not recommended for newbies.
I am too cheap to pay for allnighters as I think they should be free as I believe a role reversal occurs where I have to entertain chicas.
Being a newbie is great, it lasts only for so long.

It's a good idea to grab some Viagra for the evening...make a right after the second turnstyles (Taxi Sign) ...about 100 yards away you will see 3 pharmacies...cost about $11.50.
By El_Cabrio on Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 11:11 pm: Edit |
The buses from the US side (I catch buses at the trolley terminus) take you to Revo or Conctitucion and 4th. The walk up Constitucion bypasses ratero central and is perfectly safe in daylight. I have done the reverse trip at night several times, but walk in the street.
That is quite different than walking 1st or Primero from Const. to Revo. aka Ratero Central.
By Crazyazyn on Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 11:16 pm: Edit |
I usually take the bus at the border parking when I park my car there which costs $1. I happened to catch these buses that take me to revolution only on weekends. I can't seem to find them however on weekdays. El cabrio, is the trolley terminus right near the McDonald's and Jack in the Box on the U.S. side and do they operate on weekdays?
By El_Cabrio on Sunday, October 22, 2000 - 11:28 pm: Edit |
Crazyazan,
Where the trolley ends, you get off and face the border. You actually go left accross the street and then circle around the cul-de-sac to the right to a line up area where everyone waits for the next bus. The actual spot is a 3' wide opening in the chain link fence along the street. Whatever bus is next will have a person there to collect the $1. I get on which ever one is ready to go. They are all $1 and go to Jai Lai, or 7th and Revo or the terminal or make several stops around Revo/7th, Const/4th.
Mexicoach has a couple of special pick-ups. Border Station Parking is one and I think in front of 5-star parking too. But I usually get on the next bus to depart. The 7th/Revo station or whatever other stop near by are generally satisfactory to me.

Bring $2 to get your shoes shined by the kid in front of AB...Then after that he won't ask you (harass you) the rest of the night. Or better yet just wear sneakers.

You can also save an extra buck and get border parking coupons at the outlet mall near the border. Just go to the postoffice/mail office area and they will have it.

Trips for a few hours usually cost me in the neighborhood of:
Parking: $7
Cabs: $10
Drinks: $2 x 5 drinks, more or less (usually more)
$10
Chica plus room (I do pay 99% of time! ) $50 + $10 for room = $60.
Chica drinks: 2 x $6 = $12
Misc tips: $6
Total: $105 more or less for an evening of zona fun. Sometimes my totals run more if I opt for longer sessions, my own room, more chica drinks, rounds for amigos that I meet up with.
694me, how was Rita? I don't recognize the name. An hour and 15 min for $60 is pretty good. How was she looks wise, performance? Of course, my mileage will vary. TIA

Rita is, for me, a GFE. Since she is new at AB I think I got a deal. Also I go there late afternoon (4-5 pm) and prices are lower then. See my posting on AB Rita Vera Cruz

When I go to TJ I try to budget my $...but I end up spending around $200-$240 per evening.
The most costly thing is obviously the chica fees...and their prices vary at AB or CC (I don't do SG's, Im not that brave yet) from $30 to the standard $50 to trophy's that want absurd amounts of money.
I always promise a tip for good performance...I find that the girls tend to perform better and the sessions last longer, so its worth it..$10 tip.
I always bring my own quality condoms..Durex Avanti non-latex Polyurethane super thin...you can put lubricant inside these and they won't deteriorate..feels like your not wearing anything at all..beats the Zona standard issue...$7
And I can't stress enough the importance of buying a girl a drink to qualify her before deciding to spend serious $ on her...I usually spend $20 on chica drinks (fetcha) a night.
I believe these little expenses are a good investment.

Hi Davidd
No not really , Have a great time and if you can write a newbie report
Avoid the losers on the street even thou it may be difficult to determine which ones are the customers and which ones are the street losers as some of them dress the same.
When you first get into TJ take a taxi and tell them upfront 5 dollars. Pay no more than 5 bucks and have him drop you off at the club of your choice.
Start with Adelitas bar and you should do just fine. When you are finished with your deposit and withdrawal do not take the yellow cabs out front as they are Jive ass turkeys. They will try to get you for around 8 dollars. Walk a few steps towards the tacos stands and take a non yellow taxi as they will not rip you off.
Make sure you say Linea cinco dollaras si?
99. 8/9 of the time they will say yes.
Enjoy your first time in TJ and if you have been dwinking give yourself a decent rest before driving back home
Enjoy your trip

I have developed a regular routine that allows me to hit the zona a couple of times a week. I just hit and run but it works well for me.
50mg Generic Viagra from India. - $1.30
Parking-free
At the outlet mall in San Ysidro its free if you leave between 9:00 and 11:00 the gatekeepers go home at 9:00 leaving the gates open and they don't start towing till late at night.
Walk to zona-free
beer-$1.75
tip-$0.75
SG-$20
room-$3
2x1 beer $3.25
tip $0.75
tres tacos $1.00
$31.80 for an early evening visit, that's it. That's really all I spend and I have a great time two or three times a week.
By Dickjohnson on Sunday, November 10, 2002 - 03:10 am: Edit |
$31.80, damn. I was just in TJ for 3 days and spent over $600 so it varies alot among individuals. I just spent a lot more in Asia. Well into 5 figures.

FIVE figures? Did you really mean more than US$10,000.oo, or was that a typo?

My costs are more similar to Sancho's, but I usually do the AB/CC bargirl routine. I Used to do it every week.
-Parking- free, at the mall w/ the Wells Fargo bank, behind some vacant/for lease store lot.
-Transport -free, I just take a 15min walk back and forth to save $10
-Drinks -$10, usually a drink for the chica, a mineral water for myself, and a $1 tip for waiter
-Chica fee -I usually go for the trophies or no less than a '8', so it ranges from $50-$60 for a single session.
-Hotel-$12, including the annoying room tip
-Taco meal -$6, ($4 for 12 tacos, $1 for a soda, $1 tip)
-Total- $78-88. You might get lower if you're good at haggling, but I'm happy with this.

By Metalboots on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 - 12:44 am: Edit |
They usually open around 10-11AM. Is this going to be your first TJ trip? If so- you might want to check out the mall (Plaza Rio) and get a VIP Movie (presented in English with Spanish Subtitles) - if you are going to be there so early. There will be less chicas before 3pm. But if you require an early bird TJ trip - and its your first time- check out Adilitas! Bound to be a few phuckablez' ready to be mounted. Have a killer time!

I'm trying to have a Bachelor party in TJ. I want to get 2 good looking girls to strip at private party and do ass2ass (use a double ended dildo) show. How do I go about searching for girls willing to do this? I'm not also not sure, which hotels will allow a party in the rooms? Thanks.

Ask around some of the chicas at the Hong Kong Club.
As far as hotels go, how about one of the Suites at the Real del Rio?
By Explorer8939 on Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 09:29 pm: Edit |
DrBedRock,
Its looks like you don't know TJ that well. Most of the chicas are pretty conservative down there, and a lot won't even go to the room if another chica is involved.
By Adecirverdad on Sunday, May 08, 2005 - 02:45 pm: Edit |
I agree. It is all doable in TJ, but if you don't know your way around that well, it will be more trouble and maybe more costly than if you did it in San Diego.
Curious's suggestion of HK as a starting place is a good one. You might also consider contacting the legendary Tania who has threads under AB and escorting on this site (and her site is linked somewhere). She could probably arrange everything for you. Tania herself is no longer a youthful hottie, but she has friends.
The equally legendary Smith who works AB nightshift is always more than game for this kind of party and has friends to pull in. However, don't expect anything close to a bargain.

2007 as of now price update??
or same old same old?
By Scatmandoo on Sunday, February 25, 2007 - 05:59 pm: Edit |
Same old same old
At peak times during the weekend many BGs are looking for $60 or 600p to go up, only a few quote more, with very very few holding out for the premium fees. Many will go up for less outside of peak hours. S/T rooms next to bars tend to run $12 for the half hour. Drinks are $3.50 or 37 pesos, with fischas costing twice that at many bars (I think CC raised prices and wants $8 now).
Street girls, as always, require detailed negotiations. I've been amused by speaking to and reading a few reports by newbies who get jerked up the pricing scale by SGs to $40 or $50 with promises of F/S for 30 minutes. But the newbies don't know to clarify the 30 minutes with the SG hotel and pay only $5 or 50p for the S/T room. They then get surprised by an apparent "early knock"
By Mastreman on Sunday, February 25, 2007 - 09:59 pm: Edit |
^ Much thanks!
And how much time do the short time rooms give again?
By Scatmandoo on Monday, February 26, 2007 - 01:43 am: Edit |
Standard time in a street girl hotel is generally 15 minutes and the price is generally 50 pesos or $5. (Hacienda Hotel, Irma, Mini hotel, La Ribera) Some SG hotels charge 50 cents or a dollar more (Cascades, La Valentina, El Porton) and some of the cheaper ones are not diligent about knocking (Eduardo, Najera, Cuartos Teresa). The Acapulco gives you 30 minutes for your $5 and Los Monitos gives you a full hour, but few SGs regularly use these last two hotels, leaving them primarily for sessions with street walkers.
By Mastrehalo on Friday, January 09, 2009 - 05:11 am: Edit |
Wow it's almost been two years since I've been!
So what's the pricing and situation nowadays? With the economy the way it is, is it still the same? I've heard that TJ was down to 500 tourists per day, dead, or something like that (when it was a "warzone") a while ago. How are the chicas affected? Easier to haggle down?
By sampson on Friday, January 09, 2009 - 02:18 pm: Edit |
500 tourists a day would be really bad, but I would guess the number is more like 20,000 per day....just a wild guess....but I would guess you could count more than 1,000 per hour entering during the day time hours.
Tell me more about when TJ was a warzone as I only know the history of the last 10 years or so.
By Erip on Friday, January 09, 2009 - 05:32 pm: Edit |
Not one cost item has appreciably changed over the last 2 years and in fact, not over the 13 years that I've been going to the zona. It is true that more top tier chicas then ever will try to get over on newbies by asking for more then the standard top going rate of $60 per half hour, but almost all will take $60. So the BG half hour is still $40-60 and SG short time $20, though more SGs will upsell to $25-30 for extras which with SGs sometimes include what you would consider a basic - like her being totally naked and a CBJ.
In fact, many regulars are now paying less then before by using pesos. The peso has faltered to 13 to 1 and better as opposed to the 10 to 1 standard which has predominated over the last 10 years. Most SGs will take offers of 200 pesos and many BGs will take 500-600 pesos which comes to a significant reduction over paying the going rates in dollars.
Drinks are about a buck more then they were a few years ago. Ficha drinks are in the same ballpark they've always been. Taxis still run to and from the border for $5-6 and taxi libres are cheaper if you know how to deal with them. Short term hotels are a buck or two more then they were 10 years ago. Overnight hotels out of the zona have plummeted with the peso - so years ago I was paying $55 including tax per night at the Villa de la Zaragoza. The rate now is $39.
Restaurant food costs more as it does everywhere in the U.S. So TJ is still a pretty damn cheap thrill for a place just a few minutes from "America's finest city".
The war on drugs has not yet impacted the zona norte or the old tourist zone around Revo. However non-monger tourists who weren't already discouraged by long border waits, documentation requirements, police misbehavior and other deteriorating conditions have been scared off by the reports of violence. The tourist zone is a ghost town. Most of those people coming through the turnstyles are not tourists as the otherwise reliable font of information Sampson suggests - they are mostly TJ residents crossing the border for work, shopping and family visits and Mex-Americans going south for family visits...and mongers. One commodity that has proven to be capable of survival in the midst of the violence hysteria and misinformation, is young female flesh. Monger business is surely down making the zona more delightful then ever before, but by and large the "sex tourists" keep coming and cumming while the regular tourists no longer visit TJ beyond a very small number.
By Catocony on Friday, January 09, 2009 - 08:17 pm: Edit |
Sampson, a 1000 tourists per hour in the daytime? That seems like quite a few, even back when the economy was better (and I was going to TJ). That is probably the number of Americans who cross over every day, but most of them aren't tourists and/or mongers.
By sampson on Saturday, January 10, 2009 - 03:32 am: Edit |
I don't know. I don't know how you determine "tourist", but lets just say if you are crossing there are always plenty of folks in front and behind you....and it doesn't stop.....
I watched folks stream across around 9pm Friday as I was waiting for someone....and they just keep coming...some are locals, some are Americans visiting, some are Mexican/Americans visiting, some are Americans that live here...it is hard to tell, but there is no way in hell that anything close to 500 tourists are crossing a day...It is much larger.
By Catocony on Saturday, January 10, 2009 - 01:14 pm: Edit |
Agreed on that point, way more than 500 a day.
By Erip on Saturday, January 10, 2009 - 04:09 pm: Edit |
I was on a 2 hour car line crossing north to San Ysidro early on Thursday afternoon - so that is probably about 300 cars containing 700-800 car crossers just in that 2 hour window. When you look into the other vehicles on a Thursday afternoon you see very few anglos, blacks, or asians going back to the U.S. Almost every car contains Mexicans and Mexican Americans. Same is true on the north and south pedestrian lines. These are not tourists - it is the cultural geographic reality that Mexico extends north of la linea.

i have a question how much will good time cost now a days in la zona. also has anything prices change
By Erip on Thursday, October 06, 2011 - 03:44 pm: Edit |
Only very slight price increases for zona action in the 15 years I've been doing it. Every few years beer costs .25-.50 more (currently around $3 - 3.50 in the main bars but often that's for 2 for 1); BG hotels have gone up $3-5 for short term over the years; SG prices are the same though the bargain basement (100 pesos) has disappeared except for walkers and some very old unfortunates still working. It was easy to find $40 BG sessions in 1996 but sessions with top tier chicas at the top bars were still most often $50-60. The $40 sessions are now hard to find and $60 is going rate for quality chicas in the main bars. You've probably read in other threads that some BGs (particularly at HK) will quote $80-100 if asked. I don't ask - pay $60 at the end of the session with about 2 chicas in the last 10 years ever saying that it wasn't enough...and they were worth the $80 they wanted.
Ficha prices are the same; peanuts and stale chicle from the vendors are the same; taxis are the same; stuffed animals for PLMs are the same; viagra in the men's room is the same; you can budget less for bribes to the cops and getting robbed by rateros as both are now pretty rare, at least if you're reasonably careful and smart - though definitely a tax imposed on the reckless and the stupid.
Oh yeah, good tacos are more expensive!
Bottom line is if you could afford TJ in 2000 nothing has happened to impact the costs in any significant way.
By Blazers on Friday, October 07, 2011 - 01:15 pm: Edit |
Use pesos for pussy and it is significantly cheaper right now at 13.5 to 1. Even using pesos for food, taxis, etc can make a long weekend much cheaper. Street girls will take 200 pesos without a blink. All bargirls except HK and AB girls will not flinch at 600 pesos but even the big bar cunts will take 600 pesos if you avoid Saturday night.

By Blazers on Monday, August 13, 2012 - 09:52 am: Edit |
If you have a Bank of America ATM card, you can withdraw pesos at the ATM right next to Adelitas WITHOUT FEES. Be careful of fees for international withdrawals as it can take away the benefit of a better exchange rate via the ATM,
By Erip on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 - 01:50 am: Edit |
Ain't that the truth! Unless somebody can give you specific information regarding a specific ATM card and ATM as Blazers just provided, then it is a crapshoot.
Best exchange rate BY FAR I see given regularly in TJ is from an ATM at Las Pulgas which is conveniently around the corner from my hotel. But after using this ATM, I saw that fucking Citibank was charging me a ridiculously high transaction fee that left me feeling like a mugging victim. Those fees aren't disclosed while you make the transaction, only the fee that the ATM provider takes, which is usually reasonable in TJ.
