Shoe Repair
There's a little hole-in-the-wall shoe repair place;
Callejon Travieso (Alley parallel to Revolucion - runs north-south in the block bordered by:
Revolucion, Constitucion, Calle Segunda [Benito Juarez or 2nd Street], & Calle Tercera [Carillo Puerto or 3rd Street].
Located at the south end (where it squeezes into a narrow walkway) on the east side. I don't think there is a sign.
I had my rubber-soled shoes converted to leather - full leather soles & rubber heels - 18.00 dollars.
He could have done in 1 & 1/2 hours, but I just left them and picked them up the next week.
Does good work.
No english.

This is the exact spot that came to my mind. You can look in at his set up or watch him work for 2 minutes and know he`s a pro. When the need arises that`s where I`ll be going. Pick them up after your fine massage at Azteca around the corner. Thanks Senor Pauncho.
I've had a great experience with Restauraciones Finas de Calzado DENISSE in Centro Rio (or is it Galerias Rio?)... any cabbie at the border will be able to take you there... their Tijuana number is (01152) 664-684-9385...
250 pesos (US dollar quoted at 10.50 = US$23.50) for a new sole and heel.
