Since I was in TJ for 10 lovely days, this trip report will be in two parts.

DAY 1, July 29th.

Tried to leave my home town at 1:30pm on Sunday July 29th on Southwest Airlines, but the plane developed a fluid leak while on the runway. The plane was already 20 min. late arriving, then we were sitting in the plane for 1 hour and 15 min. before they found out the problem, a fluid leak in the breaks, so we get out and they find us another plane, I arrive in San Diego 3 hours later than planned. Finally arrive at the Travel Lode, pay cash for my room (do not use your credit card here), unpacked and left for the Zona.

Walked to the Zona at about 7:00pm and walked around looking at the street girls. There were a good number out today, and most were good looking as compared to my last trip four weeks ago. Went into Miami looking for an old friend, but she was not there, but there was a lot going on in this bar, had a two for one beer and checked out the women. Some real nice lookers today. I decided to leave and check out LC, some nice looking women but I don’t care for the music they play in this place so I left and went to AB.

I watched the floor show and had a few beers, looking for the night’s companion. After about an hour I noticed a nice looking girl in hottie central. Short, (like me) and had a nice smile. She noticed I was looking at her, so she came over to introduce herself, Nancy. We talked for a few min., she speaks English then I asked her how much to go to the room she quoted $60.00, I countered with $50.00 and she agreed. Nance said she is from Monterey, 1 kid, I would say she is about 5 feet and 90-95 lbs. After undressing, she gave me a nice unrushed blowjob, and then sex two positions, she seemed into the sex, not rushed, overall a nice experience. After sex we walked down stairs together and said goodbye for the night.

I decided to walk around again and look at the street girls, and maybe Rosa Maria, but she was not around. Went into some of the smaller bars, had a coke and just watched the shows for a few hours, then decided to check out CC.

Upon entering CC noticed the new bar, it looks very nice, but the restaurant is still not finished, boy it sure takes them a long time. Had a few beers watched the show, very nice looking women in CC tonight, I was in heaven. After a few came over to introduce themselves and ask Fucky Sucky do I want to go to the room? I noticed women I had not seen before, that appealed to me. I asked how much and up to the room we went. Her name was Marcella (my Grandmothers name) said she was 32yrs old 2 kids 10 and 7. Well she really starts before we even undress, she pulls out my dick and starts given me a blowjob, the slowly undress me and lets me undress her. Then she starts kissing me all over, a real girl friend experience. She got me so hot that we only did one position before I exploded, we see this girl again.

Walked around for a while, checking out others place and finally went back to my motel about 2:00am.

DAY 2, JULY 30

Went to TJ about 6:00PM, walked around looking for Rosa Maria, I have never seen her, only her picture. Still did not see her and the spot where she stands had a few druggies standing there, so I did not ask for her. Decided to go back to Miami to see if my old friend was there. As I was entering I walked right by her and did not notice, she has cut her hair short and it is now slightly red tinted, so I did not recognize her. Once I sat down she came over and smiled at me and said you don’t know who I am, she looks good. We always have a good time, have some drinks, and boy she likes to dance and so do I. We dance for hours, then up to the room for a great round of Sex, she is a real tiger and the sessions always last an hour or so. After the room we head downstairs again and more dancing, finally after about two more hours, she is getting tired, and says she wants to go home to sleep, so we part ways.

I walk around a while, and then decide that I am also tired and head back to the border.

DAY 3, JULY 31

This day I did not plan on going to TJ, went to the Wild Animal Park, very nice place. I enjoy looking at the different animals. After fours hours at the park I head to LA for a Dodger game. I had bought the tickets on line a few months ago. The Dodgers were playing the Reds. The game went 11 innings, the Dodgers lost to those dam Reds. Left the Dodger Stadium and headed back took about 1 hour and 45 mins.

DAY 4, Aug. 1

Had arranged to me my friend from Miami at 5:00, went to dinner and I bought her a few things she needed. Took a Taxi back to her place and proceeded to have a great time. The Sex was as good a usually, but her attitude was not good today, seemed something was bothering her, but I don’t know what. For the first time she did not ask me for money, I guess dinner and the other items were enough, but she also said she did not want to me the next day, would not say why and was very cold when I left.

I took a Taxi back to AB and had a few drinks, and found a nice looking women called Marta. Very pretty face and eyes, nice smile. She speaks English. Went upstairs, not much of a blowjob, sex three positions, but very nice women, might do again. It’s now 3:30am, try and get a Taxi outside of AB, and they want $10.00, I so no, go over to CC and grab a Taxi for $5.00 and head back for some needed sleep.

Overall some great times in TJ the first few days of my trip. Noticed many new women, and lots to go around. The last time I was there in April it was not a good. Even the smaller clubs have some nice looking women that I will check out in Part II.

Great report so far. Looking forward to part deux. But, question: why do you suggest we not use a credit card at the Travel Lodge? Since you imply you're crossing the border, I take it you mean the Travel Lodge in San Ysidro / San Diego? I can't figure why you wouldn't use a credit card at a US hotel chain in the US ... enlighten me?

Regarding not using a credit card at TL, I have a personal experience. I stayed there back in March of this year. Usually I let them scan my card, and charge my room when I leave. On this trip I decided pay cash. I tell the woman behind the desk to tear up the charge slip, I hadn't signed it. The next week I receive a call from my card company asking if I REALLY wanted to charge about $500 at Home Depot in San Ysidro. I said, "WHAT" I come to find out that one was declined, but two charges of about $225 each went through at Target in Chula Vista. I just recently had all of that straightened out. So that is why you may not want to use a charge card at the Travelodge in San Ysidro...

That was the first time it had happened to me in about eight visits. I returned once in May and charged the stay successfully without any fraudulent charges. I mentioned the problem to the guy behind the desk who was new. It appears that in the past they have had problems with employees taking credit card numbers. Evidently as part of the hiring process now, there is some kind of extensive background check.

Book Guy, if you look at the old Redsnake board you will see many old reports about the credit card scams at this Travel Lodge. The first time I stayed there three years ago I used my credit card and did not have a problem, but then the reports started coming in on Redsnake, and also the mongers reported this to the Main Travel lodge HQ and to Visa. Don't know what happened, but from that point on I only pay cash at this motel.

Ditto, Trumpet. I used a credit card without mishap the first time about three years ago, then heard about some problems and have paid cash ever since.

Kevdog,

I'm glad that book guy helped us learn about your experience by asking his question. Things have been quiet for so long regarding that Travel Lodge that I figured it was all history...but March of this year wasn't that long ago !

When I used to stay there, I always payed cash, which is how I usually pay for a room anywhere, but this place seems to discourage cash by always insisting on a deposit which for me, varied from $30-60, depending on who-knows-what. No other similar level of hotel/motel has ever required a deposit in my experiences, but maybe there are some.

Now that I think about it, the original "Travel Lodge", now called something like "The Gateway Inn" (the closest motel to the trolley station) required a deposit on my ONE AND ONLY stay there. Apparently, stealing TVs and furniture is common. On my 4AM departure, I coud not get my deposit back until I opened the trunk of my car for the night clerk.

There seems to be no good reason to stay at that overpriced "Gateway Inn" dump unless perhaps you are arthritic in the legs since the "Travel Lodge" is a mere few hundred feet or so away.....

To all who stay at Travelodge in San Ysidro:

How do you place reservations? Although I would like to pay cash, I do like the ability to SEARCH for the best rate on the internet, and place my reservations a month or more in advance.

I just booked my next DEFINITE trip during the first week of December, again with a credit card. I don't think I could lock anything in with cash, or could I?

Kev',

Most of the budget travel type places that I've ever stayed take unsecured reservations with the understanding that you have to show up by a certain time (for example, at Motel 6 it is 5PM). After that time, they go ahead and sell the room.

If you reserve with a card at that particular Travel Lodge, don't give them the card at check-in if you're concerned about it. I believe the scam that they were (or are) running required scanning the card in order to copy the info on the magnetic strip so as to create an actual duplicate of the card.

But remeber no card at check-in = cash deposit of $30 at least, unless they've changed the rules recently.

Yes, they still charge the $30 at check-in if you don't use your credit card.
