Having gone to TJ for about 4 years now, I'm dumbfounded that sometime this year I've started having trouble getting the waiters to understand what drink I'm ordering.
I used to order a Screwdriver and have no problem, but for some reason I now get a blank look.
You'd think they get so many Americans that they would all know the American names for drinks by now.
I've tried asking for Vodka and orange juice (in Spanish), but still get "Eh?".
So can anyone tell me how to order a screwdriver in Espanol (w/o them bringing the Snap-on type)?
What about other drinks?

San Puto,
I believe I have the answer for you. "Screwdriver" is a Spanish phrase meaning "blank look". So when you say, "I want a screwdriver" the waiters think you're saying "I want a blank look".
They're just being accomadating, quit being such an ugly American.

screwdriver = desamador (des - ah - mah - door)
