If you ever want to get an idea of what a parlay a will pay and haven't got a ticket yet.

One other thing, if anyone happens to go to Caliente, ask them how long a winning ticket for a baseball parlay is. I got a few winners I haven't cashed in and got to get my butt down there to cash em in, but just need to know just how quick I need to get there. Thanks.

Bullit,
A Jim Feist fan eh? I'll take Phil Steele any day!

the odds are basically the same in caliente as they are anywhere else. This calculator might take it a few dollars off give or take but its pretty much right on the money. Of course in Vegas or TJ or anywhere else the ticket tells you what you are gonna get back (except at Caliente with their little tax crap). But I like to call in bets or run possibilities before I get there to. Especially if I want to play a few $10 5 team parlays or something else crazy like that.

Tickets are good for 90 days at Caliente. They take off 1.5% from your earnings for "taxes".
They get their starting odds from a joint in LV or something as they get the nfl half time odds in 3 to 4 mn.
I bet only on world soccer and NFL.
For soccer EuroCaliente has better odds than Caliente but getting your money back always makes me sweat as cashier needs to understand using a computer.

Have you gone to the Caliente location in La Zona Norte in the alley? I went for the first time recently and was amazed as to how nice it is. It is worth checking out. You can escape the hussle and the dangers of the Zone and sit and relax and watch the monitors. You can even get table service for food and beer.

Where do they get the food from?
TB

TB....Good qestion. I don't know. All I know is that all you have to do is request service and a waiter appears to take your order. I have not tried the food yet.

Taxibob,
I am not sure that the Caliente in the alley serves food yet. When they openned they did not serve liquor, but that changed.
If you are talking about Calientes in general the food is okay and not too expensive.
If you go to Caliente race track you can get a table and waiter with a good view of the track for free. The dog races are going on here in the afternoon and evening.
Also they have another area where you can make sports bets here also.
Also for the chicas it is very relaxing and they have a little zoo that has bears and tigers along with a few other animals.

TB,
They serve food and beer at the Caliente in the alley, not sure about hard liquor.
The waiter/waitress goes through some door in the back, not hard to believe there's some sort of kitchen back there...hell the carts on the streets can whip up just about anything, why not the Caliente?

i just realized these folks BOOK horse racing. i knew they accepted wagers on horse racing, but i thought the money fed into the track. i see they have small payout limits of $3000 on a winning horse race. does anyone know if they get pissed off if you make several small bets, so you stay under this limit. any horror stories at all with these folks? it anyone is a horse racing freak(which i'm not), i would like to discuss horse betting at caliente privately. thanks.

Jeez, talk about the easiest town in the WORLD to find runners if you're worried about the small payouts! Of course they'd probably catch on to that pretty quick too if you actually hit something decent...
But, NO, I know dick about the horses on either side of the border.

hey porker--tj on your calender any time soon? i don't need to find any runners, i can do the leg work---but i don't want to get stopped after one day.

I wish. Might change if you could find me a job though, for a month or so. None of that Franco shit, though!

Just wondering if Caliente wised up yet about the 2% or so cut they charge for taking wagers when internet books are giving rebates in the 3% to 5% range?
By sampson on Thursday, July 14, 2005 - 12:41 pm: Edit |
they still take their 1.5% and these people have no clue about custumer service.
they are not bookmakers
they are shoemakers.
