With FULL Credit to Copter30.
Several of you may remember me from Redsnake or TSM but its been quite a while since I have posted anything on any site.
Last weekend I took advantage of the cheap SW fares and flew into SD on Thursday nite, arriving around 10pm. No time to include airport info other than to say the only problems I encountered were of my own making.
I had planned on taxi to trolley route but the $30 offer by my cabbie directly to the border sold quickly.
I had a return flight departing Saturday at 7:40pm so had no desire to waste anytime. It had been several months since my last visit to TJ due to my preference of less frequent but longer stays in other more exotic locals.
This trip was entirely different than any other perhaps due to 911 and the effect it has had on the chicas, but also my changed attitude and priorities. After several vacations in Asia and more in Brazil the notion of 5 30 minute trophy fucks a day no longer appeals to me. I didnt really comprehend this until I reached Adelitas and encountered the pregunta premiro "go to room" from most of the new to me HC chicas.
Thursday night I drank entirely to many tequilas and wandered around AB,CC,Trop,LC,the Alley ect. eventually selecting a happy friendly chica in AB sometime around 5am. Not exactly my type but with limited options and in need of a place to pass out I offered her 40 and paid room por toda la noche. I had to ask her to leave after about an hour, not because I didnt enjoy but she was begining to plan Friday for us.
Friday around noon I decided I deserved finer accomadations with a finer chica and made my escape. Again after wandering the alley looking for one of the recently highly acclaimed SG's I ended up back in AB and had a seat in a booth by the left bar.
I was soon joined by a very attractive chica who seemed to know of me from a friend who had told her I was, at one time, a good customer????
Before taking her over to the Puebla Amigo I decided to test the waters upstairs in the dreaded Coahilla where I again paid the $29? for toda la noche even though I had no desire to sleep there another nite. I offered her $80 for 1 hour with the possibility of a nite out and a room at PA. This was around 2pm she stayed until about 5pm and left happily with $100.
After a 3 hour nap I returned and soon was joined by my new amiga. We went across the street and down an alley about a block so she could change and drop of her bag , and then want up to Revo to Iguana Ranas.
After a few hours of Pacificos , Cuervo being poured directly into my mouth, shots of Heradurra Repesado, generaly reliving my youth , it gets strange.
While she is in the bathroom I decide that a piece of V might be necessary to keep up with this wild 23 YO. After biting off a piece I am approched by three waiters, managers or bouncers ,who I had been tipping well, they tell me I am using drugs and will have to go downstrairs and talk to the policia.
To try and clarify the bullshit at IR, the Iguana staff never directly asked ME for money only requested that I leave because I was using drugs and that the police would be waiting for me downstairs. I am a happy drunk and found it to be pretty funny. When my girl returned they explained the situation to her in Spanish. It was loud and my Spanish is fair at best. SHE asked me if I wanted to give them $50 to forget they whole thing. If it had not been for the xanax (no script) in my pocket I would have had no concern whatsoever but with the recent stories about police shakedowns on Revo I just calmly played along and took my chances. Bluff called, end of story.
An officer was present and the waiter presents the 1/2 V that I had dropped at the table when confronted. He asks me to empty my pockets and discovers 30 alprazolam (Zanax) tablets which I had purchased just prior to entering Iguanas. I use it to sleep on long flights, works wonders.
After checking my ID's, I had my passport, he returned all my contraband and told me to have a good nite.
We grabed a taxi and checked into the Pueblo Amigo where I was happy to pay $142 considering my early luck and no mention of addition money from her. Room service was prompt with a couple of cervezas and snacks.
If this were someone else's story I would be thinking that she was in on the scam but....
I had requested a late checkout at the PA on Saturday, we agreed on 2pm. At about that time we were showering with plans to have lunch before I attempted to cross the border, I was anticipating a 1-2 hour wait at the border and another 1/2 hour to get to the airport for my 7:40pm flight.
Around 3pm we checked out and walked over to Sr.Frogs where my sense of responsibility was lost in ceviche, carne y nopales en molcajete, margaritas and lust. Sometime around 5pm I rationalized to myself that I would never make it to the airport in time for my flight, the last one of the day to my destination on SW.
For anyone still reading this it must be obvious that I am not going to reveal the identity of my new friend, but I need to refer to her as something other the she ect. , So I will call her M. I guess I am writing this for me to try and understand how for the first time in recent memory I disregarded the consequences of my choices to spend time with a prostitute.
I suggested to M that we find a more reasonably priced hotel with similar accommodations, she suggested the Hotel America which I had never heard of. At something like $52 it is in my IMHO the best value in TJ although I have never used the VZ. After several hours in bed, a combination of calorie burning activities and napping, we discussed how we would spend the rest of the night. I had no intention of returning to anywhere on Revo and suggested an upscale local nightspot. At this point she did mention returning to Adelitas suggesting that she needed money, but also suggested Zapatas for dinner and drinks. I gave her $100 and we showered for about the 10th time in the last 30 hours.
I had heard of Zapatas but had never been there. We went to a place called Suisse or something like that, after a decent dinner and more good margaritas we wandered around a little before returning to Hotel America. M called for a wake up at 7am, I still had hopes of getting home by noon to honor my commitments on Sunday. We woke around 8am, had another round, exchanged numbers and I was on my way.
At the border the line was backed up past the pharmacy and took about 40 minutes to walk across. Finally got cell service in the cab to the airport to cancel my Sunday afternoon plans. At SD airport I had no problem getting booked on a return but had to pay the $66 difference for a full fare ticket. I had only a small backpack so went directly to the info line to get my ticket. It was about 1130am and I was ticketed for a 1245pm depart, but was told that if I was able to clear security in time I could catch a 1205pm flight.
The line was almost as long as the one at the border. It was here that I learned that we had started bombing causing the extensive line. Fortunately it moved quickly and I made last boarding call on the 1205 flight.
If I had more time and didn't have to deal with fabricating explanations, I hate that part, at home I might rate this trip as my best experience in TJ.
What changed? Me, the chicas or the climate in general due to 911? Have to guess all three.
As I stated earlier, this is my first post here and I have never been much of a storyteller. This was just so different than previous trips dating back to 1996 I felt the need to document it.
For anyone interested in Fortaleza Brazil I sent TJH a few photos from my July trip and will answer questions for anyone considering traveling there. I also know BKK and RIO well enough to assist a newbie. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Copter,
I am very much interested in any info on Forataleza. I spent a week in Rio 6 months ago and loved it. I've also been on a few "Asian campaigns". In Rio I met a few guys and ladies at the termas who would swoon over Fortaleza. Can you send me an email with your report and also an oveall comparison between Rio and Fortaleza?
Much appreciated,
