With full credit to Sam.
I went on another research mission and found the Hotel Camino Real. Well, if you like bedrooms and bathrooms, this is the place. When I am in my room, or bathroom, I feel as though I could be a Ritz Carlton. The food is first rate, although they really don't have a nice "sit down" restaurant. The gym is no where in comparison to the gym in the mall at the Grand. But, the Camino Real is where I call my weekday home.
Camino Real
Best Rooms & bathrooms in all TJ
Best Service and professionalism in TJ
Most like an American Luxury Hotel
My opinion, only.

Do you know what route to use for the taxis de ruta? Any live music? Thanks.

Camino Real is a very upscale hotel. It's not a "fuck an go" hotel. It is reserved for businessmen and families. If you want to use it for your sport, do not go in the main entrance. Go through the parking lot level door. Instead of going up the escalators, go to the back of the ground floor (where the make shift travel agency is) and turn left. At the end of the deadended hall way is an elevator. Use this elevator to go up to your floor where your room is. This will avoid going into the lobby. The garage elevator stops going above the lobby floor at 8pm. Then, you will have to stop at the lobby level and re enter an elevator to go to your floor.
The cabs that service the hotel are of the highest quality in all of Tijuana. All the drivers wear shirt and ties. Their cabs are completely colored yellow (not to be confused with those bandito cabs parked in front of Adelita's). Cab ride from the hotel to the steps of Adelita's is $7.
There is live music in the lobby bar from Thursday night through the weekend. The bar activity is really light during the weekdays.
If you are staying at the Grand Hotel, and you want to use the hotel for your mongering activity, do not go through the lobby as well. Instead, go into the garage parking. Use the elevators in the garage entrance to go to the second floor. Go up and cross over to the main elevator in order to go to your floor where your room is. This you will be able to avoid the lobby and guard service. As an option, you can enter the main mall and go up to the second level. Go over into the hotel and use the same elevators to go to your room.
This is a lot of effort, but, I have to tell you, these hotels are the best!
FYI.

I spent one night in Camino Real with Amy-CC (a freebie) last year. Actually, it was far from free because the room cost about $200. We rode the escalator up to check in and down to the taxi after checking out. I did feel like the eyes of the whole world were upon us as we descended that escalator but no one spoke to us. I can't remember anything else about the hotel or the room (other than everything being top notch) because we spent the whole night in bed.
