Mexicoach and the blue bus line are related. Inbound you catch either at any of several stops. Border Station Parking and the old Five Star Parking (now World Parking?) all have stops. Heck, on the way in I take the first bus I can find. They are all $1.25. I usually get off the trolley, walk south and around the cul-de-sac to a multi-line pick-up. It is really just a break in the chain link separating the street from the side walk and all the buses line up to pick up passengers there. The bus doesn't leave until it is full; then another pulls up.

Now on the other hand, coming back out, Mexicoach, and specifically their red buses have certain major advantages. The Mexicoach Station is a mini-mall full of trinket and rip-off jewlery shops just south of Bambi on Revo. They have buses that leave about every 15 minutes or so. Same price. Very professional. Their buses have a special arrangement that drops you off immediately at the immigration checkpoint side entrance - NO LINES, You get searched getting off the bus! And then enter the building and promptly exit. I understand you can get back on the bus on the US side and they will take you to your parking lot of origin. Well heck, why not just stay on and go back into TJ!

Great bus line for the bullfights, Rosarita, or other destinations. Really a class organization as Mexican bus lines go, IMO.

Above is the web site for Mexicoach and the Blue Border Shuttle.
They both work the same. Take either one.
The bus works great if you are crossing the border while there are long pedestrian lines at the border. The bus has their own vehicle line at the border. Usually a lot faster than waiting in the pedestrian line. You can exit after you complete the border inspection or get back on the bus to finish your ride to the final destination.
It does not help late at night because it does not run at that time.
You can pick up the return bus from TJ to the border between 6th and 7th on Revoluccion.
Just work your way through the stalls to the back where the bus station is.
Buses run approximately every 20 minutes.
Hours are 9am to 9pm last time I checked.
Price is $1.50 dollars one way ($15.00 pesos)

Terminal Turística Tijuana

Mexicoach also has cheap $8.00 rates TJ to Rosarito Beach.

The last time I checked, there was a dollar off coupon on the above web site for the Border Station Parking.

Take it from me, an old Mexicoach veteran. A couple things have changed since Strikeagle's post. Mexicoach bus fares have risen to $2 each way (I remember when it was a $1 one way, an unbeatable value). It's not as cheap as it once was, but I still take the bus each way because it saves on fatigue and sweat. I don't know about you guys, but I work up a sweat just walking across the border. One thing I hate to do is to work up a sweat. It makes me feel dirty. Also, the service has decreased over the years. It's more like every half hour. Before, it used to be more like once every 20 minutes. And if there are a lot of passengers waiting, like during peak times or holidays, there's a chance you may not even get on the bus. You may have to wait for the bus after that!
