They must have gone up on the SENTRI renewal price in the last 2 months.

It is not too difficult to get, but they are very picky about the paperwork. I called them and was told that if I told them I did not live in TJ but planned to move there as soon as I had a SENTRI pass, that would be OK.

By the way, for more info on the SENTRI pass, go to:

When I got the pass for my kids last January it was $105 also. The additional amount over that is for the background check and the transponder. Neither of which applies to the kids.

There is no requirement that you live in Tijuana. I am using my US address now which is my permanent address even though I do not reside there. When I originally applied I put "Going home." in the "Reason for entering the US" box. They accepted that. Just be prepared to give all the information regarding your finances, employment, driving history, criminal history, registration, residence, insurance, etc.

Cf, that is weird. I have paperwork that I got in October that says $79 after the first year, plus an additional $50 the first year for the background check. Oh well, no big deal since it is only a yearly expense.

"they are very picky about the paperwork."

Yes they can be very picky. I went to my first interview with receipts for 8 months of living in Tijuas. They insisted that I produce a rental agreement something I don't even have. My landlord was kind enough to draft one for me.

Per the "SENTRI RENEWAL INFORMATION SHEET (Rev 06/01)"... The renewal fee is $105 per applicant for 1 year, $42 for additional vehicles (up to 3), $25 for a card that has been lost, stolen, or destroyed. Further in the paperwork divides the $105 into a $80 system fee and a $25 application fee. These are charged seperately. You will have to bring current and original documentation for everything.

CF, I was not arguing with you. Like ReyTJ, when you post factual info I don't ever remember it being wrong. I was just saying that I have some paperwork here that certainly makes it seem as if the annual fee after the first year is $79, and at least one person I know who has a SENTRI pass thought the same thing. He has not renewed his yet, however.

Didn't think you were arguing, I just had the papers sitting here when I was reading the post. Thought the way they broke up the costs may have caused some confusion, the $80 and $25. I'm just curious what paperwork you have that says $79???

Hippie/cj/ja,

Ja's paperwork says (Rev 06/01)

Hippie, is your paperwork pre 06/01?

Don't know, and don't feel like looking for it. It may be. I don't remember when I picked it up.

I would like to start a new thread: "Whatever Happened To...?"

To begin, I would appreciate info on the following:

Whatever happened to Vanesa? She was a slender brunet who was working at Chicago Club and then married a Chinese and disappeared. Then reappeared again calling herself Karen and had blond hair for a while. I have not seen her for a while. By the way she always asked for $80.00!

Does anyone know where she is? Thanks.
