This may interest any baseball fans out there. The Tijuana Potros winter league team looks set to return next season. Tijuana has been without baseball since the 1991 season and it sucks. The Mexican Pacific League (Liga Mexicana del Pacifico--LMP) will PROBABLY expand into Tijuana next year. The season is 66 games and runs from Mid October to the end of December, with Playoffs in January. All Sunday games are doubleheaders. More information will be forthcoming as I find out more. About 40% of the starters tend to be American prospects.

Is Fernando Valenzuela still pitching?

Fernando Valenzuela pitches for Hermosillo. Teddy Higuera pitches for someone also, I forget who. Valenzuela has basically said he plans to pitch until he dies.
Mexican baseball is rather fun. I went to a game of the Oaxaca Guerreros of the Mexican National League last summer and had a blast, and I have been over to Mexicali several times this winter to see the Augilas. It is cheap fun. Beer in Oaxaca cost 10 pesos, in Mexicali it has been jacked up to 12.
