At the airport city bus stop I took the 992 airport flyer ($2.25)to the America Plaza Trolley station (5 minutes)and then using the bus transfer I hopped on the Blue Line Trolley marked San Ysidro to the border (30 minutes). My heartbeat quickened as I saw the archway and the Mexican flag appear in the distance. I wondered if she would be there for me??? I then took the bus from the border station parking lot ($2) across the border to the bus station on Calle Septimo and Revolucion.

I wanted to stay in a hotel in the zona norte because I wanted to be near the princesas on the Callejon and Constitucion. I missed my brown-skinned daughters so much. There were so many nights in the desert that I longed to be with them. I rolled my suitcase on wheels down the Callejon to Hotel Cascadas. I was early and the rooms wouldn't be ready until 1pm. I engaged Jesus and Joshua in a long conversation about the happenings in the zona norte and answered their questions. Though my Spanish is a work in progress I managed to get these guys on my side. It is wise to have friends on the staff.

I was given room 523 which was a good choice because it had two windows. I could gaze down on the south side of the Callejon and keep a loving eye on my beautiful princesas. Also on the fifth floor it is a long way from the noise. The price was $32.50 for Fridays and Saturdays and $31 for the other days of the week.

I quickly unpacked and headed off to see if my favorite was working at Adelita's. I went into Adelita's and she was there all warm and understanding. I noticed a dramatic change in their attitude towards my presence with my stay at hotel Cascadas.
