been kicking this idea around with management, and last night had a meeting with one of the owners. these people are good people trying to make their business successful. have tried many things, and have experienced an increase in business. i've been fortunate to meet some of you at this place, and i think for the most part the people i've talked to like it.

so here is the deal: thursday march 25 in la tropa bar, the management will offer free carne asada, free beer, and chica games as well. raffle off more free beer--no donation required, and in all likelihood a pussy raffle as well(also with no donation required). they are working on some type of gift or favor such as a tee shirt. the event is scheduled to begin at 8:00pm and will end when it ends. management has promised to have at a minimum of 4 english speaking chicas as well as many chicas period. there will be other english speaking people on hand such as the manager, doorman, and a mesero or two.

goal is to show you that this place is americano friendly regarless of your ethniticty(did i spell that right). they will want to here any comments and critisism you may have. i've already addressed the music level situation, and i would hope that anyone else would express their concerns as well. more information will be posted as it becomes available, so please mark your calenders and if at all possible try to make an appearance. happy mongering all...

forgot to mention that more new chicas will be arriving as early as today, but no later than friday. of course my friend jesus will be in attendence as well.

Sampson, I hope this event is successful and judging from the RSVPs coming in, it probably will. I like La Tropa and keep waiting for it to break through with the hombres. I'll be sure to stop in if I'm in TJ on 4/25. Since you are consulting with management, tell them to turn the music down just a bit so we can hear ourselves sounding like babosos as we haul out our bad español with the chicas (excluding What3ver of course). You might also let them know that the dancers will draw much more positive attention if they smile and make eye contact while dancing (as the AB dancers do)...not just when they are being tipped.

I've always liked La Tropa the BAR, but their constant HALFASS efforts to get traffic in there is as big of a joke as the ever impending opening of Eskandall Bar next to Tropical. La Tropa will ALWAYS suck until they decide once and for all what kind of bar they want it to be and stick with it to hopefully generate loyal clients. At the moment it's a USmusicstripclub/cumbiabandataxidancejoint/poolhall/hookerbarwhereallthegirlssitontheirASSESallnight.
While Sampson is apparently impressed with the chica lineup there, I saw NOTHING to get excited about there when I checked in several times a couple weeks back. With no 2x1 there's no damned reason to go there anymore.

When Edwin was pseudo managing the place several of us talked his ear off about what it would take to get people in there. He's a nice guy, but either didn't agree with us or, more likely, didn't frickin' care. Turning down the music was a no brainer. Playing ONE TYPE of music helps too. When it's hot, BLAST THE AC. Make the chicas stay in the bar, don't let them hang out in the bathroom/hotel/taco stand. Simple shit. They just don't GET IT.

The pool tables were obviously an attempt to draw local clientele. Why don't they stick with THAT for awhile and see if it works?

BTW, the free booze idea they have tried several times was a sweet deal, but keep in mind that they start passing out the booze on MEXICAN TIME -- 1/2 hour after they said they were gonna start. It wasn't just beer but liquor as well. Their accomplishment? They got every offduty waiter in the Zona fallingdown drunk. Now THAT'S an accomplishment!!!

Sampson, I hope you do a better job of 'consulting' than the dude that was supposedly hooked up at the NUEVA New York. That place closed within a month!

Sampson, all the bars in this chain have their own administrators, these are not the owners. The Brizuella brothers own this bar, along with just about every other bar, hotel, resturant, store, parking lot in the zona,(with the exception of AB, CC, and a few others) ask anybody who's in the know.

What I was saying was I would be suprised if you met one of them, since they are just about never down there.

It's either Frances or Francia, it's the hotel above Titanic in La Mesa. Very inconvienent for Zona Norte or Zona Centro.

i would guess i left la tropa around 8 last night. monday was a business trip--only 2 buckets. sorry i missed you. i have one favor to ask. on the way back to the parking lot i stopped in at bar tropical and met a chica "julie". i invited her and she says she will come(cum), but i told her it was my birtday party--told my original favorita the same. if any of you would be so nice to say happy birthday it would be appreciated. i'm like 42 and two thirds on the 25th.

I walked through La Tropa twice, at 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. and was not the least bit impressed. Perhaps I missed something but I didn't see any evidence of the carne asada that I was told by the barkers would be there. I did notice a larger than average monger presence but out of the 12-15 girls I saw I would only consider 2 doable and they were 7's at best.

I was there from 8:03 to 8:35 just to meet people. There were two dancers I would rate as 8s and a couple of 7s sitting in the line plus a couple of nice girls (pleasant) with the monger group.
If you went for the food and couldnt get any then your judgement was probably impaired.

sorry to see you were disapointed. the food did take longer than expected, but there was plenty as i think many mongers will attest to.
many thanks to hombre for his support. i judged the fiesta to be a sucess with some super star hombre's attending that didn't respond to any of the threads.
milky won the pussy raffle and most everyone got a "freebie" from the hombre store. i'll have more to say later and hope we can do it again.

I really didn't go to the club for food, I was just using that as an example of how my expectations were frustrated. I really thought that the fiesta was going to be kind of a coming out party for La Tropa that would show everyone that there were sufficient quality chicas there to justify hanging out there.

Unfortunately, for me I don't get to go to TJ very often and I need to hang out at the clubs that have the best prospects for me. On Thurs night all the clubs that I went to, (AB, Tropical, Miami, and Chicago), had many, many, more attractive prospects for me and I could not justify hanging out at La Tropa.

Now that I see that the fiesta was more of a meet and greet happening for Hombre mongers I realize that my expectations were probably out of line. I really wish I had more time to hang out with the guys but only going down to TJ for about 6 hours every 6 months dictates different priorities for me.

Sorry to rain on your parade and I'm glad that you guys were able to get La Tropa to host this get together.

I went last night and really enjoyed myself. I went to meet fellow mongers and have a good time. The tacos were done around 10:15 or so and we kept eating until around 11. DayTimer and I imported a few sweeties (Milky took a liking to my little spinner). The party was going pretty good when we showed up around 9. Lots of mongers and the talent pool was decent. Some were hot, some were not. Granted, their english was worse then my Spanish, but you can still have fun. This bar (well most bars) do not host a line up like AB - filled with pornstar looking trollops (God bless them!!). This bar offers something a bit more "authentic" in the realm of Mexican girls and I enjoyed myself.

This party did what it was suppose to - got me to think about coming into this club. I visited here a few times in the past but those visits were few and far between. Now, I will make this a stop at least once a trip. I may not barfine from here, but at least I'll drink a mineral water, watch the girls dance, maybe dance a bit myself (shaking dat booty!!) and test the plumbing. This is what I do at other clubs and now I will include this one in the rotation.
