This is a new restaurant which has only opened within the last three or four weeks. It's in the alley, the exact location is 1er Callejon Coahuila #8084. Zona Norte. It was built on a dirt lot which stood vacant for years.
It is almost at the corner on the east side of the alley, directly across from a laundromat called Lavamatica Armida, where the real skanky drugged out SG's hang out. Can't miss it, right next door to the little convenient store on the northside of the street which is next to the Hacienda Bar.
The owners are some big white guy with red hair called John and his partner, David del Oro. Both are very well aware of the ClubHombre site because they told me CH members/customers tell them about the mongering activity of the Zona.
Real nice guys, but above all, real good food. Ate there last week with fellow CH member "R Deloro." Good prices, excellent tortillas and you've just absolutely got to try their enchiladas con carne and their chilaquiles de pollo. You won't be disappointed. Conveniently located to where you can take your hooker to lunch.
Great outdoor seating area also where you can relax and watch the SG's walk by and the drug addicts across the street shoot up.
If you happen to go there for a quick taco, tell them Master Bates referred you.

I also like the place and they even have bano's in the back.
If you set near the sidewalk you can look and see a balcony across the street. I watched a young girl age 17-18 in her school outfit making out with a tuff guy Mexican on the balcony and she was trying to get him to go inside. He just set the and ignored her and watched the people below. What a tuff guy!
Oh, I thought about volunteering to take her inside, but felt it would be inappropriate.
Hey, when did we get spell check.

The fresh OJ was wonderful for my airplane/puta sore throat. Tacos Al Pastor about as good as I have had. All in all, a good place.

Ate there again recently. Food is still good and always fresh. No complaints. What is refreshing is this new little restaurant is a lot better than most of those little restaurants and taco stands in the alley.
I feel a lot safer eating the food here. Even the proprietors of the establishment asked me how are the guys on ClubHombre are doing? He asked all CH members to stop by and give his place a try.
I think he's secretly a ClubHombre member himself!

On weekends I see they're advertising barbacoa de borrego which is suppose to be pit roasted mutton cooked in maguey leaves. It's a specialty of central mexico.

Good joint- I agree with all the above posts. They have a xmas tree and other decos out which looked real nice Friday evening. Recommened eatery. Seems well run and usually has customers which is a good sign. Good place to unwind, sightsee, or hook up with mongers.

Ate there SAturday night with mi amigos before the fiesta, guessing/knowing there would be no food at the fiesta.
The three carne asada tacos I had were very good.

I've been eating there on all my trips to the Zona. I've always had some type of tacos there, and thought they were great. Today I wanted someting different, and had their "Torta Especial". (carne asada, ham, quacamole, onion, lettuce and tomato.) Turned out to be a really good meal for $3.00

Ate there yesterday for the first time.
First my take on the food. I ordered three tacos. One carne asada, one al pastor and one buche. I thought the al pastor meat was low quality as it had a lot of fat and grissle (sp). The buche was tasty and the asada was ok. Total was 24 pesos.
Now for the place itself. The place was clean as well as the restroom. No paper towels in the restroom tho. The food was hot and service was just ok, considering they only had one girl taking orders, delivering your food and settling the bill.
So in a jam, I would eat there again, otherwise I would eat else where.

And right out front, plenty of TUNA TACOS!

Ate there again recently. Can't say the food is all bad, in fact it's rather quite tasty. Great location to watch the hookers go by, food is excellent, service is great. I had the "enchiladas rojas." (that's tortillas cooked in red sauce with stuffed beef)

This place has changed it's name. It's now El Taco Choncho. Last night I ordered pescado frito con papas. It was a small whole 'mojarra' that was perfectly cooked. Cost was 30 pesos.

Maybe change in ownership?

For those not "in the know", choncho is a sort of slang word for "panocha"..
aka chonch....pronounced (chone-ch)
also chonies are known as panties.
sounds like pussy tacos are in order![]()

A much more common meaning for choncho is hefty.
Chones can be either men's or women's briefs.
Before it became slang for pussy, panocha was another term for piloncillo, Mexican unrefined brown sugar.
