I think Adelita Bar has overdone it with the new drink prices. When the drink prices were $5 for a cerveza for a lady I would be pretty freehearted with my spending. Then the prices went to $6 for a cerveza after 9/11 and I didn't like it, but I figured I could live with it since the prices had remained stable for some time. Then they further increased the price to $7 for a chica's cerveza and that was enough for me. I really cut back on buying the chicas drinks. I seldom buy more than 1 drink for chicas per night now, whereas before I spent relatively freely. (I'm talking only about cervezas here. A tequila is more like $9 I think.) The drinks for guys have also went up, but they are at least still within reason.

I've noticed that the prices in CC and the cab prices have also went up. Also the room prices at AB have went up. I've cut back on all of these goods and services.

While 9/11 has hurt the business down in Mexico, they don't seem to realize that it has hurt jobs and business north of the border also. I am doing my part in limiting my spending at these bars as much as possible, while still trying to have a good time. I want to have fun, but I deeply resent being ripped off.

I often stop off at some of the lesser bars, with cheaper prices, to get my initial buzz on. And I'm beginning to look much more seriously at the street chicas for fun of a sexual nature. There are some very fine looking ladies working the streets these days. (The trick in dealing with the street chicas is to negotiate everything before going to the room, and I mean everything!)

AB and CC are still good for eye candy, but we need to get them to come back down to earth with their prices.

Slickster: One major problem, tho, is the overexposure of the Zona in general and AB specifically...Everybody is fetching down there and money more often than not is not an issue with the crowd down there these days...

I mean, the fetching SD Chargers are down there for godssakes-- how much do you think they are willing to give the girls without batting an eye?...And you can bet that whichever team happens to be in San Diego on a given Sunday will have some guys down there over the course of the weekend...

Bottom line, its only going to get worse...

What's ironic is CC is now the mid-large level club with the cheapest chica drinks....6 bucks.

Miami, LC and BT are now 7.50 for the ladies drinks and 2.75 for our beers....which really only hurts the waiters since they used to get the .50 differential, now they only get the quarter.

Still, in comparison to your average US sports bar the prices are still reasonable....it just adds up faster. It won't hurt the clubs any, just the cheapskates like me.

What are the going rates for the rooms now? It was $11 for AB and $10 for CC when I was last there (before 9/11). But am hoping for a trip down south in the very near future.

CC is $11 for half hour and $22 for hour now.

I think these prices are because of the exchange rate I think it's been 100pesos(per half hour) for quite a while now, but I could be wrong.

They went down to $6. Only one ficha for the girls but that one ticket is worth two bucks.

Before when the drinks for the girls was $8 the girls got four bucks.
