Small clean rooms with private bath, typical locals 2 star. About 4 blocks to Adalita Bar and Chicago Club. From Adalita Bar walk South on Coahuila to corner, turn left, one block to 1ra, turn right (South), hotel is about 4 blocks down on your right. Suggest cab ride (about $1.50 USD) as this is not the safest neighborhood. Desk inside entrance increases security. 5 minute cab ride from border.

Single $12 USD; Double $20 USD

They have increased their one person rate to 170 pesos. During the day this part of town is safe enough but not after the vehicular traffic dies down at night.

I believe you are mistaking west for south. Substituting that word - west - where you have "south" will, I think, get people to the hotel.

Both 1ra (1st, Primera, or Articulos 123) and Coahuila run east - west, hence, it is impossible to go south on them.

Somewhat incidentally, I recently had one of those amusing, seemingly only in La Coahuila events. An American woman asked me, at the corner of 1st/Constitución, if I could recommend an inexpensive hotel - say, $10. I said, I was not sure, but perhaps in the direction you, Randy, indicate for Hotel San Francisco, or what I believe would be a few blocks west of where we were standing. She explained - sort of - that she was a cancer doctor and was just coming in from Ensenada. She did not explain why a seemingly well-paid professional was only willing to pay $10.
