I decided to quit using the TJ Amigos site for three reasons more or less: One was a user who I became paranoid of and felt was possibly a narc and or government intruder - I know this sounds far fetched - but bragging about taking cocaine to Adilitas and then asking around for help by fellow board members for recommendations on other coke users is either patheticly stupid or a narc. Secondly, I am tired of another specific user who continuously rages on and on and on about his pictures of women being stolen or manipulated- who are usually not that attractive. Yes Sir, they are HIS pictures, if he wants to take them down from the site then so be it - but jezzus christ already! How many demands this guy makes in a month of the board is just silly- he should start his own board! Third, as user Dr. Choi made clear - the “private,” forums were a disappointment. I know I may sound like a baby; and its fine as wine to poke fun at me but I am jealous that I was not invited. I mean shit - I’m a Redsnake vintage monger with no public complaints and posted a lot of info and it’s like my nose was shoved in shit when all the revelations to the non private forum member “surfs, and lurker types,” like me that the main site was now blocked from me. I’m sure a lot more members feel this way. Maybe I am taking it all too seriously, so I did not “go off,” on any user but I no longer feel comfortable there. I think EF has a great reputation for providing a free and more or less un-moderated forum- and I appreciate the info sharing on TJ happenings; but I am done.

You ARE taking all this too seriously. IMHO, all this just gives me something to bitch about, except that you've come up with stuff to bitch about that I hadn't thought of yet.

TJ Amigos is free. CH isn't. And I know of more than a few former RS members who won't pay for access. I'm no big TJ Amigos fan, but it's OK for what you pay for.

I'm a member of both TJA and CH.

Each has something different to offer, but for some reason I feel more at home at CH.

Both are quality sites so I bounce between the two for information. It's all pretty much the same but I kinda like how CH works, plus I like reading about the other countries I haven't been to yet.

Metalboots mentioned drchoi's point about the private areas that TJA offer's. I've always been an outsider my whole life so not being a part of those clubs doesn't bother me, but I can see how it promotes some resentment with the "have" and "have-nots". It probably wouldn't have been better if no one mentioned anything about the private clubs on the public side of the board and privately invited people to them and rule 1(next to outing) is to never mention they exist.

For all I know there could be a private exclusive club on CH and they are tight lipped about it.

But what i feel is great about CH is everyone is equal. Nothing is exclusive(at least I assume). We can all view pics if we pay for the access. All reports are available. Very little flamming.

Well, I just renewed my membership here and I wanted to say thanks to CH for a great site.

Hope everyone ends the year on a high note and let's all have a great year in 2005.

Actually a lot of people maintain non-paid, non-multimedia access simply by submitting reports and participating in discussions. Some of the members that regularly submit photos maintain free full-site access.

Admin, These mongers are way too lazy to submit trip reports and/or participate in discussions.

I'll second that! Although I don't contribute much I read about what's up every day. I like the the threaded chat which TJA doesn't have.

I tried to get a TJ real estate section going a couple of times. Guess I'm one of the few who are foolish enough to buy and live there. 8^)

There is. We are. Much of the nation's foreign policy is decided there.

In fact, you wouldn't know it from his "public" demeanor, but Explorer is quite the hawk. "Gotta get some of them big Iraqi titties" was his mantra, but I think he may now be leaning toward an invasion of Norway.

So can one of you tjamigos members tell me what Tania's latest recruit, who goes by the name Noemi, is having said about her on that site. I once had a membership but cannot for the life of me remember both the username AND email account I signed up with.

I met her recently and I had a great time with her, but she is almost paranoid that someone is talking bad about her on that site.

I have no idea how influential that site is or how many members it has, so I cannot really allay her concerns nor validate them.

I think CH is the only site that is needed regarding Tijuana as it seems to always have the most level headed advice given and current status reports.

I mean, just look at the competing websites, such as ....well, I won't even give him the benefit of mentioning his site, but you all know who I am talking about......lol.

Redsnake was certainly a great start, but ClubHombre has turned out to be an incredible source of accurate information worldwide.

And the amazing part is how few flame wars there are here.......that kind of says something all by itself.

Tania reads TJ Amigos so I suspect Noemi was just fishing for info as to whether she has been mentioned here.
