Are rates more on a Saturday night? In particular, during the NFL season. I think it would be a great place to crash at and then watch football in the morning.

a single room with two queen size beds will set you back around 100.00 and if you are traveling with friends i highly reccommend haggling for a suite. The top floor of the Pueblo Amigo Hotel is all suites which include a King size bed a full jacuzzi, a full size bathroom with a shower and bath. There is also a living room and dining room included in the suite. The last time my friends and I stayed there we paid $300.00 for the suite. I believe the regular rate is around $600.00, however rarely does the hotel fill all of these rooms so barganing is always an option.
After a goods night rest you can always enjoy the food at the hotel itself, the breakfast buffett has saved me many times as well as the 24hr room service.
one last note, I have never had a problem bringing female guests to my room as far as the hotel is concerned, however keep in mind that this hotel is fairly upscale for tijuana standards and it is appropriate to be discreet and curteous to the hotel as well as other guests

I've read many posts say that guys bring chicas to this hotel. How chica friendly is this place? Can you just walk in with a chica and no one will say anything, or is there a protocol that you guys follow, like tipping a guard?

I havent stayed there lately, but when I was I never had any problems. Just walked right in and up to the room. I think it may depend on how the girl is dressed as it is a family place.

I have had many girls at this hotel. Several notes-register for two or they may ask you to pay more.
Again, I have never had any problem at all with bringing girls into this hotel.

it is best to register for two. a couple months ago, my buddy and i got two rooms and indicated four guests. the first night, we each brought a gal back and had no questions/problems. the next night, my buddy came back early (w/no girls) and i came in later on and brought two gals back (both for me). once inside the room, the phone rang and the guy from the front told me that i was allowed only one girl in the room. i lied and said i had dropped one of the girls off at my buddy's room. all was okay after that.
Stayed two nights last week and managed a junior suite for $69 us. This took some doing, although following advice posted here paid off. Sent email first, but with no reply in 24 hours, I did call the 800 number. They started me at the book rate from the web site, and at first refused to budge on the price. Offered a small discount for AAA.
I pulled the " my friend stayed here last week..., and mentioned the gamblers rate. That did it, got right down to $79, but they told me I would need a form from the sports book first, to get that rate.
Arrived Tuesday and they just quoted me the $69 and that was that. Never asked for the form from the sports book. Booked a second room for my friend ariving later that day for only $55. But for him, they insisted we go to the sports book for the "paper". Easy, just tell them the front desk wants the "form", fill out your name & address. That's it. We never even spend a dime there.
Breakfast was great (as reported). Added bonus is the Luxor, for massage, right accross the plaza. Basically a $5 cab ride to Adalitas. Secure parking at no cost. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Was not fortunate to bring a chica to the room this trip, but did registar for two persons, just in case.
Forgot to mention internet access.....
They have a room on the first floor, a small conference room, to the left of the hotel office, with two computers and a printer. Machines are on a decent high speed connection and are free to use.
They told me my room key would work untill 6pm, and although it never did, there always seemed to be an employee in there surfing the net to let you in. Ask at the front desk for access in the eveing.
The printer was a nice touch. Since I flew into San Diego, I was able to print the security document now required with a "E" ticket to get through security to the boarding gate. This document can only be printed 24 hours before departure.
Fellow TJ vacationers,
I just made reservations for 5 nights at the Pueblo Amigo. I am coming in on Tuesday and leaving on Sunday in mid August. Following the above advise, I called the 800 number and was quoted $140 per night. Told them that my friend stayed there two weeks ago and paid $69 one time and $79 another time. He put me on hold and then came back and said they don’t have such a rate and asked for my friend’s name. I gave him a name and while he was checking it told him that I am coming on a gambling trip. He said a yes off course and the gambeling rate is $55 weekdays and $80 on Fri/Sat, but I will need to show gambling receipt. So I made reservations and got a confirmation number and the guy’s name. Also asked for an email confirmation but was told to call after 3:00 pm and they will be able to send me an email then. We will see…
Anyone knows what gambling receipt he was talking about?
I will let you know how real it is, when I receive the email confirmation.
Before you go to the hotel make a small wager at the Caliente sports bar next to the hotel and then ask them for the Pueblo Amigo gamblers letter. They should know what it is.
Also, double check at the PA front desk each day to make sure you're receiving the rates that you were quoted. If it's possible try to get the rates in writing when you check in, so they don't try to fuck you over by upping the rate after your first night there.
I would also recommend paying in cash. I have heard problems ocurring with credit card pmts. Other than that probably one of the most reputable hotels in TJ.
Well guys, so far no confirmation email. Will keep you posted.
I have been to Adelitas and Chicago club many times. Do they do all nights with hobbyists ? I have done only the short time thing in the rooms next door.
Are there other sources of quality (GFE) girls in Tijuana ? Want to know for my next trip.
Thank you ...
Well I am back and had a good stay at Pueblo Amigo, rates were as quoted, $55 weekdays and $79 Fri/Sat. ($62 and $90 after tax.) Pueblo Amigo is a decent hotel. A little old and worn out and I had problems with the cable TV that never got fixed but overall it is hard to beat for this price.
when I checked-in, I confirmed the rates and promptly got a gambling letter from the Caliente from the back of the hotel and took it to the front desk. Per advise of others on this site I paid cash for all my stay in advanced and didn't have to get another letter later. I guess I could have paid as I go but then would have needed gambling letters every day and didn't want to bother with that.
Evaluation:
Most importantly just about everyone spoke English
Overall: 7.5 (out of 10)
Room: Good size and clean – Equivalent to $125-$150 rooms in most cities
Bathroom: Clean and large (marble floor and Walls)
Beds: Large and comfortable
Service: Prompt and Friendly
Food: Safe, good and consistent
Had no problem bringing in girls to the room – No extra cost
Internet access: Free from their computer room but could buy wireless access in the room
Other: Close to a expensive and hopping night club, several good (by American standard) restaurants, and a large grocery store (within a block)
One other thing; on the first day I asked for a small refrigerator (to keep drinks cool) since I was going to stay about a week. They didn’t have one but they brought me a large old cooler and would bring me ice anytime I needed it. It worked fine for keeping a bottle of Vodka, a few colas, juices and fruits cool.
Nice to know they have wireless in the rooms now. Was there a charge for that?
The bathrooms alone are worth the higher rates. Hell, they even have telephones next to the toilets!
The one thing I miss is their indoor pool. I used to pay security an extra $5 to let me and my chica in late at night for some fun.

Guys, I forgot the most important fringe benefit; I had Verizon Wireless reception in the Restaurant/lobby of the hotel. Outstanding!
Guys,
I just checked the internet rates for Nov 8-10 and they are quoting $90 a night plus tax. Have the prices changed during the last few months?
or do i need to go to calente then go to the hotel to get a better rate? thanks
GL
Actually, their Internet rates are only cheap if you have the corporate rate or AAA/AARP. This even includes booking on Expedia.com. Anyone know how to get a cheaper rate on the Internet than $140 a night?

The Pueblo Amigo now has a casino downstairs. It offers rouletter, black jack, craps, some other game I don't know and lots of slot machines, as well as the sports book.
The black jack is electronic but is legit. It uses an 8 deck shoe and offers Las Vegas rules....minimum 25 pesos to a 1500 maximum...double down any two cards, unlimited split, surrender, double down after a split, pays 1.5 on black jack and also has some side bet opportunities. I understand that very soon they will have live dealers as well. I really don't know about the other games other than they exist. They do tax your winnings at I believe 4% but not even sure.
Casino opens at 9am and runs until 4am I believe.
Similar gaming is available at the Hipodromo Caliente as well.

Damn it all Sampson, that's information I'm better off not knowing. I don't give a fuck about the PA so why did I open this thread - because it was you posting. Actually recently I am considering getting interested in the PA as I saw them recently advertising a no strings $54 rate. Maybe because they more than make up the difference with suckers going to the casino?
I gave up my Blackjack career in Las Vegas to begin a monger career in TJ in the mid-90's. I can't deal with both. But I don't think I can trust a TJ blackjack machine, especially if it may be owned by Jorge Hank Rhon. Is he the current owner of the PA by any chance? And how does PA get to do this exclusively other than Caliente?
But it is tempting to fantasize that with a little luck one could afford a mexicolindobar.com escort!

Erip,
The machines are legit. I have been going daily and there is no way they are rigged. They are suppose to have live dealers soon.
You can always play at the Hipodromo as well.
