Seafood restaurant located on 7th St. slightly off of Revolucion Ave. Mexico Lindo is right across the street from it, if you want some dessert afterwards. Or the strip club Lord Black is only a few blocks away too.
The atmosphere is good and service is excellent.
The waiters are very attentive and you receive the food quickly. I never had a bad meal here and the filet mignon and whole fish entrees are my favorites. You find mostly tourists in there, but that is the only negative thing IMO.

Tanya says the oysters are good there, although I've never tried them.
The last time my friends and I went there, we were met at the door and the guy said "Welcome home gentlemen"! Then the host came over and told the Senator that he was concerned that we hadn't been there for a couple of months.
The food is excellent! We've never gotten a bad meal there.

There's also a great little "mom and pop" diner just a few doors south. They serve great coffee in the morning and a wonderful breakfast.
Skip the steak house across the street. They serve shoe leather and tell you it's fillet mignon!

Folks:
Ate at La Costa with mi nueva novia this past Thurs afternoon... we met in front of Mexico Lindo and La Costa was calling out to us, it seemed...
The place is well-appointed and rather elegant...typical plates run in the $15-35 range and include a salad, shrimp soup, bread, and a very tasty house dessert-- mocha fondu with cinnamon? yo no se-- in addition to the entree...my particular entree-- camarones empanizadas (fried shrimp)-- was rather unimaginitive but La Costa did an excellent job with mi novia's fillet selection...
Service was top-notch and very attentive, but we were basically the only clientes at 2:30pm on a Thurs afternoon...the entire smoking section (a room) was ours and ours alone...
2 entrees, a pack of Marlboro lights (para ella), a Cognac (para ella) and a Coca-Cola (para mi) totaled $43 USD...La Costa does accept Visa/MC...
My conclusion? A decent El Centro restaurant selection-- one within walking distance of La Coahuila-- for all of you loverboys out there who dig Seafood and want to impress but aren't into the Plaza Rio thing...

Food is great at La Costa but I'd sure like to commend the restaurant on hiring the most beautiful looking hostesses

Last hostess I saw there was 55 and matronly. The cashier girl is nice though

WHERE: Revolution area. I believe off of 7th, right next to Mexico Lindo.
CLOSEST MONGERING: Revo clubs and massage places behind Sanborn's
RATING: 2 1/2 STARS
FOOD: Great selection of seafood and some carne. Way too overpriced for the quality of fish served here.
ATMOSPHERE: Very rustic with lots of Nautical antiquities.
PRICE: High. Average entree 10-17 dollars.
SERVICE: Superb. Very attentive.

More of the same from me.
My only complaint is that the quality of the fish fillets was average. Everything else, especially the service, was very good to excellent. I have been twice and have tried the Fillet a la Veracruz as well as Olivia. Wasn't impressed with either, but still really liked the place.
Any recommendations on platos de mariscosos ?
TIA
G

Don Pepe is probably the best, ithas been recommended to me by the locals. Up there by the brewery. Prices in same range as La Costa. Service also good but it was early when I got there. I eat between 6 and 7 which is early for the Mexicans.
