I had to be in San Diego for work so I left a little early to finally check out Tijuana. Socrates was nice enough to introduce me to the venue and many thanks go out to him for his sage advice and field tips.

First impressions: typical 3rd world town. I liked how everything was centrally located and within a short walking distance. Loud and a little smelly in places, but that is too be expected.

Hotels: The hotels were very sparse and what I would term basic. I didn't note the name of the one I stayed at, but it was new and 42USD/d for a double. The room was fine in all regards except for no in-room safe and the mattress was too hard (non spring version). On the positive side, it offered easy access to the sites and was quiet. Internet access was not pervasive in town or at the hotel/s.

Food: I ate all Mexican fare from street carts to restaurants to little hole in the wall restaurants. My favorite eating places were the street carts and the last hole in the wall restaurant. I didn't note the name of the last small restaurant (soc's pick), but the food was superb for only 25 pesos. I Had the pollo de salsa verde. yum.


Clubs: my first night, I walked around from 2-6AM poking my head in most clubs-- just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. In fact, I spent most of the weekend in clubs, trying to soak in as much TJ as I could. However, there were only 4 that were interesting in terms of girls. In order of preference:

Hong Kong bar-- Not the best looking girls, but decent floor shows and the girls are fun to hang with. This was the only bar I went in (by myself) where chicas just sit, stayed, and chatted with me without any provocation from myself (i.e. dollars or drinks). Went here with some of Soc's friends and chilled in the VIP room. They were getting some very high mileage for 1 dollar lap dances, but girl quality left a lot to be desired.

Tropical-- I saw several sexy looking chicas here during the afternoon floor show. Nice way to spend the afternoon...

Chicago-- Not many decent looking chicks here, there were a few that had some promise though. I found myself going back for a stroll or using this as a meeting place, but never staying long.

Adelitas-- Way over rated in terms of girl quality IMHO, unless you like overweight butherface chicks with plastic tits! I came here solo saturday at the wee hours of the morning, pulled some blond with straight blonde hair, and pushed my way to the bar and grabbed a stool for a few hours in front of hottie central. Soc and I took a stroll through the last day, and he pointed out what I would deem as the best looking chick I saw in TJ (beautiful ass and hips/petite).

Peanuts and beer-- There were a couple decent looking gals in P&B, but it was a little stuffy so girls can get sweaty/sticky, the lap dances were 20 bucks (are we in NYC?), and I didn't see many extras to be had. Not bad if one need as little eye candy, but not much else...

SGs: I found there to be several decent looking SGs standing about. I didn't sample much as I had no language ability and I am big on communicating what I need and getting a handle on the their attitude. There was one girl that soc knew of that I would say was the best looking ones that (soc-- the one I said had a butherface from a distance that I later retracted my comment once up close) I saw during the weekend in terms of BGs. Interestingly enough, even though Soc seemed to know the two hottest girls I saw, I don't think he has ever sessioned with either.

Overall girl quality: In the looks department, I found most of the girls to be too fat with butherface's. A couple of the decent ones had implants, which detracted from the package. On the + side, I have never seen some many nice tits (at least with clothes on). Nice small, tight racks were the norm. Cute girls with either a decent rack OR a nice ass can be found easily enough though, so as long as your happy with a 1/3 or possibly a 2/3 ( ass, tits, face)-- no problemo.

Service: well I didn't really have much of a sample size, as I found interviewing nearly impossible. The service I did have was decent-- nothing earth shattering, but not bad either. CBJs seem to be the norm. I tossed it off on one occasion, which seemed to work well and on the second occasion-- I was forced to go with the flow. It wasn't as bad as I imagined though. Having never had a CBJ-- I was horrified at the thought initially.

Cost:

girls-- It's not cheap when one is an SEA monger, but it's not too bad either. For the price of my lunch at work today, you could have a 20 minute erotic adventure.

Beer-- beers were pretty expensive-- 3-4 USD/ea. I had pesos most of the trip and they rake u over the coals if you pay in pesos. Lesson learned.

TJ board gang-- all stand up guys and I enjoyed hanging with them when I did. I'm terrible with names, but hats off to those guys-- they know how to party in style (redefined puking $$$). I managed to pick up useful pieces of info brief them as well like LT in PI runs over 100USD ;)

Language skill: since I am not a “pull the trigger” type of guy and I like to gauge a gals personality, spanish skills are a MUST have. I went in test and observation mode without it. No complaints though-- just something to add to by study list.

Soc-- I gauged the "potential" TJ experience vicariously through Soc and watched him closely. He has a pretty good selection of girls that knew him well and like to hang out with him (not the wham bam thank you maim experience), which was nice. He knew a lot of girls/guys in town and it was obvious he invested a fair amount of time getting to know the scene. On the last day, he recommended Azteca massage, which was a real winner for me (I love massages). thanks again soc.


Conclusion: Well having done the reverse of most people (start in TJ then go to SEA), I found TJ to be a little pricey and service a little impersonal/lacking. Girl looks were adequate though and it isn't a bad way to spend a weekend (Once I learn some spanish). On a side note, I think they poisoned the beer as I had as 24 hour headache after drinking in bars all night.

Great to read about TJ from your unique perspective, I actually have some great memories of TJ and agree with most of your observations.

Tropical Club is often good for me as they have some fresh meat from Sinaloa every so often. You can get real lucky with some beauties there.

DM, excellent report and sounds like you had a good time. You are absolutely right about it being difficult to interview girls, and this can be true even if you speak Spanish. Buying drinks can pay dividends, especially in the more local-centric places, but in high volume bars like Adelitas, it's probably just throwing good money after bad unless you are there at a quiet time or a frequent visitor that has time to cultivate repeat relationships. 'Interviewing' on the street is often useless, though charm does work sometimes. MONEY works better! Imagine that!

I still think TJ is a fun place, but as you point out, world travelers need to really dumb down their expectations from the chicas. Even if you find one whose looks are acceptable and that you have fun with in the room, the reality is that for the actual time you spend with them, you are getting horrible value for your money compared to just about any place in Asia. Sometimes I just can't get over that and would prefer to just stay home and jerk off.

Funny about the covered BJ's. I was thinking about that while I was in Monterrey last week and marveling at the propaganda campaign that must have produced those results throughout Mexico. Chicas must truly believe that their lips will fall off if they suck a dick without a rubber. Why Mexico mongers let them get away with it, I have no clue. I could say the same about having most of the whoremongering industry of Mexico based on buying drinks and dancing with the girls instead of fucking them silly.

merl-- after all soc's warnings of do's and donts regarding safety and the stories, my camera stayed in my pcoket for the most part. I never felt threatened, but I made sure to err on the careful side given I was solo and a newbie.

pork-- yup, despite that headache, I enjoyed hanging out for the weekend. My MO for anyplace is always to keep expectations to a min and enjoy things for what they are. Just going around getting a few beers and eating was fun. Anything else was a bonus.

totally agree with regards to this-- it took me a solid day and half to come to grips with dollar value. I don't know about staying home and whacking off tho -- I can't say that thought occured to me Anyway, that and the language factor factored in large in how I spent my time...

Went down to TJ last night, and had a great time barhopping. Again, Tropical proved again to be my pick, followed by hong kong, then Adelitas.

Has a very cute young gal @ tropical that was very warm, cuddly, and enjoyed kissing/contact @ my seat.

Also, sampled some SG wares, which was pretty darn good visual candy, but the service was nothing to write home about. Way to many drinks in me by that time anyway ;)

I've probably taken a dozen jaunts down to TJ since this original report including last Sunday. The action and gal selection each and every time was terrible. Then lo and behold, last night I saw no less than a half dozen girls I would be happy to fuck. Of course, I still have a major language barrier and service negotiations are nearly impossible, but damn... perhaps they put some tj hottie elixir in my tecates!
