This is a small size restaurant located in the plaza between the big arch and the McDonald’s, about five min walk from the zona. The view of the sign "La Tradicion" is obstructed by the roof on top of the side walk, so you may not see it. The owner / waiter is Alberto, a nice guy, good looking, and honest.
They serve Mexican style food but on the lighter side. I had one chicken soup, big portion, $3.60 dls. Mexican scramble egg breakfast $2.50 dls. Beer $1.50 dls. I like the food here better than Al Capone’s at CC. This is a place you can still have good food at Mexican price, better than at McDonald’s. I like to sit at their side walk table for breakfast, enjoying the morning breeze and watch people walking by. My only complaint was for my coffee. They gave me a cup of hot water and a bottle of instant coffee!

Antonio,
Thanks for the recommendation.
I have once sat outside and just watched people and guys playing dominos in the area you are describing. Just had coffee, which was nescafe instant, almost undrinkable. But pleasant area and I will give restaurant a try.
As you are walking south (toward MacDonalds)which side of walkway is it on?

Sr. Ben,
If you pass the arch and enter the plaza, it should be on your right hand side. There are two Mexican hooker bars inside the plaza. The restaurant is opposite the large hooker bar La something. The wait staff waive menus on the side walk.
Hope you enjoy it.

TWO MEXICAN HOOKER BARS?
I did not know there were any hookers bars in the plaza. I will definitely have to check this area out.
