Ah yes, coming up again in just a couple of months - late October. This is a must visit event in TJ. The models as depicted are hot enough, but the college graduate marketing major types who actually (wo)man the booths for the Tequila manufacturers are sizzling hot in their business attire and showing off all their south of the border breeding and education - no different then going to a professional Las Vegas trade show, and reminds you that "real girls" are hotter then hookers.
Last year I think it was a $5 admission that is good all day and night - uh...free in and out with your bracelet. The situation is much more mellow then you will anticipate if you haven't been there before despite the amount of Tequila and Mescal that gets consumed. A business but fun atmosphere is somehow maintained. Lots of food booths to soak up the Tequila, and pleasant outdoor entertainment which also just may include some hot young chicas dancing from time to time.
I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming the location will be the same as last year and most TJ street festivals, Revo between Calles 7 & 8 - Las Pulgas on the west side and the Jai Alai fronton on the east side.
Sip, don't shoot!

It has profoundly impacted tourism - just about the only remaining tourists in TJ are in town to calm down their erections demonstrating that pussy is indeed the most valuable commodity.
But it has not in any way impacted any actual tourists or mongers. This beyond idiotic war on drugs has not touched down in the tourist district or the zona norte or most of this gigantic city for that matter (most people don't realize that TJ has 3 million or more residents - many uncounted recent immigrants from the south, and is the 2nd largest city on the Pacific Ocean in the Western Hemisphere - only L.A. is larger). No reports of tourists being killed or kidnapped, though the U.S. government and media have stirred up hysteria about the situation. It doesn't mean that this insanity may not eventually spread and ultimately impact visitors, but so far, not a single report of a casual sex tourist of any tourist being victimized.
Lately, even the big shootouts that were occurring in remote parts of the city have stopped or calmed down considerably, with most of the action now occurring on different fronts in Sinaloa and Chihuahua, Mexico City and other locations away from TJ.
I'm not particularly optimistic about the future, but the present is no problem for mongers.
Hey zoner, great to see you posting some TJ stuff again!!!
I have to agree with erip. Living down here for the last year and half the only real change I can see down in the zona is the cops situation has improved. That an atleast 50% of girls are gone, but the other 50% are holding up the fort. If they report about the violence on TV or in the newspaper I wouldnt of even known it happened.
