I would like to respond, but give me some time to read your report first.

No problem. We were just joking with you.

First of all, sincere apologies for the mistakes i made trying to start my report, won't hide my shortcomings when it comes to dealing with cybertechnologies. If my brain wants to go on vacation, well, i might as well be in Bangladesh,.....

Now, it has been quite a few months going nowhere and was, let's say out of action due to an injury. Since had to do some bussiness down south in the San Diego area between Aug/Oct, decided to do some visiting to Tijuana. not my first time down there and it won't be the last time i enjoy Mexican TLC. was concerned with the rising cost of airfares and not happy with it, i thought it would be a nice change if i use old reliable Greyhound and not worry about the driving. did most of my trips at night so i could sleep most of the time. had to change busses in LA and was surprized the effort by Greyhound to keep that terminal safe, more security, nice tvs for transients passengers and a sense of comfort while waiting there for my southbound bus. Connecting with my rides going south were ok; ops, i would like to add i did this trip downsouth at least 3 times, don't think is going to be a daily thing but i just wanted to give a try and had all the time in the world.

Arrival downtown San Diego was uneventual and the terminal is not as big as LA's, but, since i was just passing through, was of no consequence to me. took the trolley to my hotel in Chula Vista, one of the hotels i used during these trip down there. US$2.50= ticket and 20' later i got there. I used this hotel for one of my trips down there, the other occasions i did stay in Tijuana.

Home away from home;

Days Inn
699 E St.
Chula Vista, Ca. 91990
PH: (619) 585-1999
www.daysinnsandiego.com
charge was reasonable US$59= and i got all i need it, ac, cable tv, full bath, wifi and continental breakfast included. most important, trolley station (Bayfront/E st) is just a whisper away to San Isidro/Int'l border and heaven!!!

It takes about 15-20' to the San Isidro/Int'l border trolley Stn. crossing is always funny for me, reminds me those cattle places where cattle is rush through these marked railbound corridors as they go to the slaughterhouse, i was a happy camper anyways knowing what awaits on the other side of the border.

I saw Homeland security at work, 2-3 buses were park right by the border gate with Mexico while about 20-30 illegals were being deported. really not sorry, when i talk about illegal inmigration i mean respect for US laws, respect for our sovereignity...

Once you go through the turnstyle, you're in Mexico and unless you pay attention, you may think you still in San Diego. right after you make a right turn, there's a pharmacy where you get your medicine at the cheapest rates, trust me.

Don't need to take a taxi, jusy go to the main traffic circle and to the right, next to main intercity bus station, take the minibus to town, only s/0.75= (about US$0.70=), can't beat this fare. minibus will drop you on 3rd st, one block from revolution.

I decided to try for one of my trips this hotel;
Hotel Cesar's
Ave. Revolution, corner w/ 5th st.
Zona centro, Tijuana
PH: (664)685-1606
Rate at the time was US$35 and the room was ok, cable tv, full bath clean but no ac, i had a big fan. its possible to bring a girl here but honestly i never try it, always "ate" my honey out.

The other hotel i used for my other visit in town was;

Hotel Paris
Calle 5ta. #8 181(corner wt/ revlution)
Zona centro, Tijuana
PH/fax: 685-3023/685-3961
USA(011526640685-3961

Here i got a better rate of US$22-24= a night. you can get a weekly if you ask for. room was ok, ac, cable tv, full bath. a little run down but clean and also here you could bring your honey but i never try it. my stay here was for a full week and when i was at the Cesar's it was for only 4-5 days.

Concerning food is a hit and miss, a nice chinese restaurant is this one;
Estrella China
Av. Madero 1714
Betwn 9 & 10 st.
Zona centro, TJ
Is behind the Jai Lai, a block or 2 aways.

I was pleasantly surprized when i did my rounds in the red light district, specially when i went into the Hong Kong club, they sure poured some serious money here to renovated and it actually expanded all the way across to be on the same st as Adelita's. Adelita's as usual still a winner, had a couple of girls here, first was Marina, local broad, built like an American chick and a killer body, US$60 + 11 for room. other chick was a VENEZUELAN!!!, my first one here, name is Carolina, about 5'8", nice body & rack and full service. told me she's illegal and hides from Mexican federales when they show up, otherwise it could be deported to her country or in order to get away had to give a "Freebie" to the sorry bastard of the mexican officer. always anywhere there's somebody looking for a free meal!!!.

Chicago Bar it looks it as gone down a bit, not many nice gals and kind of death most of the time, hit and miss for me. around the block on Calle cahuila there are a few clubs but the ones i had a great time were: La carreta, Miami bar, Hong Kong, La valentina among others. of course, plenty of streetwalkers but didn't avail of any. with so much flesh in the clubs there was no need for me to go out and get one. you ciertainly can get any of these gals for less money, your negociating skills come into play here. back on the other side on Constitution, i think there is a massage parlor, "Mermaids", nice place if you want a rub down plus a roll in the hay, heard quotes of about US100=; thought it was a little high for me.

Nice place to eat broiled chicken is "Los Polluelos", which is behind the main Cathedral downtown, you can't miss it. cheap and very filling, trust me.

Decided to check Plaza Rio Mall and no need to take a taxi, just used this public van service on 3rd st, only charge S/0.90= ($0.80=.). once there one time i went to VIP Cineopolis, those VIP seats were so soft and confortables that i went to sleep and miss most of the movie (Journey to the center of the earth), wasn't mad just amuse how tired i was without knowing!!!. not too far from this mall are 3 places you should visit; for brolied chicken try

Rey del Pollo, on calle Victoria/zona rio, a meal here after going to Adelita's get all your strenght back and more; Mariscos Dorado on Mercado Hidalgo, great place for a quick snack and get some fresh fruit; to top it off is a Seafood place, "Negro Durazo", right behind Mercado Hidalgo. all these places are next to each other, can't miss them.

As far as ongoing drug war here, i just ws careful and mind my own bussiness, of course it helps if you don't get in a pissing contest with anybody and be nice, that's all. To get back to the border you don't have to walk or talk a taxi, just go to 2nd st., just off revolution and catch the public bus going to "LA LINEA", only US$0.80=, a no brainer. this as long as you don't have a ton of luggage of course. once at the border is a nice walk across, just be prepared to spend a few extra minutes on line 'cause sometimes is crazy with so many people waiting as you are and the security now in place, oh well, is a reality we have to live with!?!?!?

All in all i spent about 18 days running around TJ. exchange was about 12-13 to a dollar. enjoyed myself good and got some of my life and happiness back.

My apologies for any shortcomings and hope this helps any future trips. Already looking forward to a return to more pleasant journeys, specially to Asia.

One of these days Hombre is going to have to rewrite his instructions for how to upload pictures. This is what you do:

If you want to place an image in your post, type the following:

image{any word you choose}

with a backslash immediately before the word "image."

The important thing is you need to include the squiggly brackets and a word that doesn't have to be related to the file name of the picture between the squiggly brackets. When you press the post button, you should then get a screen where you are asked to specify the name and location on your computer of each picture file you want to upload; you are at this point given the option of browsing your computer to find the file. That should do it.

Laguy;
I do appreciate your comments. I've done this post before and it seems from what i can figure is the wifi signal too weak at this moment to upload them.
Well, i'll try to get those pics in later on this week. if there's one to blame, just lay on me guys. I just hope you enjoy the report minus pics (for the moment).///

I believe if you get to the part where it leaves you the boxes in your post...you have done the image backlash squiggly brackets part right. :-)

Not really "interesting" but I always stay at the Days Inn in CV if & when I don't stay in TJ. The trolley is very convenient and there's a few cute (young) maids on the staff.

MP
Thanks for the report Nice to see more reports from TJ.

I was not aware of a public bus to Plaza Rio or the border.

I do sometimes take the bus back to the border from further up REV that costs $3.00 and drives you past the long walking line and drops you at the side entrance of the border crossing building.

On busy Saturdays or Sundays when it is really hot it is much better to sit in an air conditioned bus than stand in line.
