So - my question - does anyone know for sure about these "health cards"? The girls both told me that they had to have health cards to work at the AB and they were checked by a Doctor every 15 days for STD's. I've heard this before, but just figured it was a great rumor that was perpetuated to help us believe we are safer as we monger. Does anybody know for sure? Has anybody seen proof?

I've also seen the doorman tip off girls coming down from the hotel that inspectors were in the bar checking health cards.

Anyone working as a sex worker in Tijuana is supposed to have a health card. That includes street girls, girls at massage parlors and the other bars besides Adelita.

I don't think checkups are every 15 days however. I think it's every 3 weeks.

the check ups are every 17 days. I am very sure of this. Also note that at times i have also asked to see their health cards and they have shown them everytime.

When inspectors show up at CC, immediately several chicas without a health card go hide in the ladies room. So I doubt management cares a iota about health cards. AB and CC are owned by same family.

Any female that works in a ficha/whore bar needs to have a health card it doesnt matter if she ia the fat bitch in back cleaning shit out of the toilets or a mesera they all need health cards

Milkys right, any woman in the bar is required to have one. And very many don't have them. To keep it current they get a swab test once a month and a blood test every 3 months. If they get caught without it they get a ride in the police wagon (where they get groped and insulted by the cops), at least a night in jail, and a fine. The punishment is really up to the judges discression but you will hear different amounts from different girls.

Slick may be right. I specifically asked the girl i was with last night for a health card and she told me she left it downstairs, and refused to let me see it. She kept saying "I PROOOOOMISE I AM KLEEEEEEEN". I kept saying "May i see your health card?" She kept saying "No". Then followed that up with "Stupid americans". and left.

I've found that most girls don't like to give out any personal information. That's why a lot of them don't go by their real names.

The health card's front cover contain a name and address (which MAY be her real one).
