This is Why I Love Tijuana
I decided to do this post as I was doing research for an upcoming vacation. All of the following are taken from Travelocity and are the best prices they offer. The dates are the same for all cities, April 1st to April 6th, 2003. All originate in Las Vegas.

Tijuana, Mexico

Travel Time: 4:30(plus I can go on the spur of the moment)
Cost: $60 (round trip)
After looking at the prices of these airline tickets I don't think anyone can argue that Tijuana is expensive. And There are quality women in Tijuana. It my take some getting used to TJ to be able to find them, but they're there. GFE's aren't impossible to find, just a little more challenging. I've gone to TJ so many times that now GFE's fall into my lap ....literally

Yahoo gives MUCH lower prices! If you are a courier and can leave at a days notice then Hong Kong was free and HK to BKK was $150 RT.

Dood, I got some bad news.
I never said I wouldn't even visit any of these other venues. I just won't be doing it until I can stay long enough to justify the airfare and travel time. I'll need to look for a place to live when I retire too.
I'm still planning on going to Costa Rica within the next couple weeks. I think staying there 12 days is almost long enough to justify the $580 airfare and the 7:30 travel time.
-snapper-
Interesting and fun analysis, Snapper. I got to thinking about a similar financial comparison for someone based over here on the East Coast. I'm as likely as anyone to sing the praises of TJ, but this might spoil your point a little...LOL.
I'm using some of the same assumptions that you are... same travel dates (4/1/03-4/6/03), and comparable times at all destinations for ground transportation upon arrival. (which is probably not a valid assumption) The times I've quoted are flight times including layovers.
I decided to run each destination through Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia, and took the best fare obatined. In addition, I added a few more well-known adventuring destinations.
My starting point in each case is Philadelphia. For me, Baltimore-Washington International is only a little further, and often cheaper. But for the sake of uniformity, I stuck with Philly.
A couple of disclaimers: I know this analysis totally ignores the cost incurred during one's actual visit, which is certainly a major consideration. Also, I'm sure there are cheaper fares to be found out there if you really look around, but since I don't have all day to do this, I'll just stick with the "Big 3" online ticket finders.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
TAM / American, 1 stop, Philly-Miami-Rio
Travel time: 12:18
Cost: $818
San Jose, Costa Rica
Delta, 1 stop, Philly-Atlanta-San Jose
Travel time: 7:43 (Snapper found a shorter one from LV)
Cost: $518
Bangkok, Thailand
USAirways/Thai Airways, 2 stops, Philly-LA-Tokyo-Bangkok
Travel time: an ungodly 26:40
Cost: a very reasonable $1354
Manila, Philippines
USAirways/Philippine Airlines, 2 stops, Philly-San Francisco-Honolulu-Manila (no stop in Honolulu on return trip)
Travel time: 25:20 out, 19:57 back
Cost: $1182
Buenos Aires, Argentina
United, 1 stop, Philly-Washington-Buenos Aires
Travel time: 13:34
Cost: $776
Cartagena, Colombia
USAirways/ACES, 1 stop, Philly-Miami-Cartagena
Travel time: 9:15
Cost: $834
(Note: Billfromreading will surely point out that you can get a better deal on the fare than that.)
Tijuana, Mexico
America West, 1 stop, Philly-Phoenix-San Diego
Travel time: 7:40
Cost: $399
(Note: this is the best fare out there at the moment, but in the past, I've been able to book a nonstop flight for around $250.)
Montreal, Canada
USAirways, nonstop, Philly-Montreal
Travel time: 1:30
Cost: $247
(Another option for me would be to make the 8-hour drive at an approximate cost of $140 for gas and tolls.)
Amsterdam, Netherlands
USAirways, nonstop, Philly-Amsterdam
Travel time: 7:45
Cost: $475
(Now, if everything else in Amsterdam wasn't so expensive...)
Moscow, Russia
British Airways, 1 stop, Philly-London-Moscow
Travel time: 12:45
Cost: $626
Havana, Cuba
Air Jamaica, 1 stop, Philly-Montego Bay-Havana
Travel time: 7:30
Cost: $996
One final observation... as far as TJ goes, you left coasters have the edge over us easterners. But for most of the other places, we're better off out here on the cold East Coast.
By MrBill on Thursday, January 23, 2003 - 09:32 am: Edit |
Farsider - you've got it backwards
. I see flights from the east coast to Rio and Buenos Aires in the $4-500 range all the time. You can fly to Rio for about the same price you're flying to TJ (doh!) You're not going to find those rates on expedia.com... Try united.com and look for specials. Or try this:
www.travelbuzz.net/special19.htm
Yep... that's exactly why I made that disclaimer above.
That's a good link you gave, though. Just for fun, I typed in Philly to Rio, same dates. The best fare was $606 with one stop.
If I was REALLY in the process of planning a trip to any of those places (I wish!), I would certainly look a lot harder for cheap fares.
Snapper, you certainly could do better than the prices you gave above, as well.
By Snapper on Thursday, January 23, 2003 - 02:54 pm: Edit |
Like 694me states Yahoo gives MUCH lower prices! ...I'll check out their prices, but with me the big thing is travel time.
Now if I were in you situation living on the east coast I don't think I would consider Tijuana over Costa Rica. As you can see the price and travel time is about the same.
Ground transportation is very valid. Once I drove down to meet a bunch of buddies that had flown down. To go back home we all left the Travelodge at the same time. I beat them home by over a half hour.
-snapper-
Snapper,
China Air gives pretty consistant $666-$671 fares from Vegas to Manilla. I still stand that I can go to Angeles for much less money for a week and have a imcoperabley better time. When I go all out in TJ, I'm looking at $400 a day, inluding room, massages, food, beer, and of course the chicas. I went to Angeles last November, spent a whole week non-stop fun, 24/7, and the total cost was $731 total for tickets, and I brought $1500 in cash. I came home with over $400, and I admit to giving about $400 away on some "charity work" I did over there(don't ask). Plus I spent $100 on a phone there. So for less than $1500, I had an all out good time for almost half of what TJ would have cost. And the savings would mount even higher if I stayed more than a week, like two weeks would cost a little over $2k, but in TJ, well over 5k. And most of you know how I like to party, and my m.o. is very similar in both countries. As far as travel time, after being there, I just don't give it a second thought. And even though most guys point out the GFE of the PI girls, you can hardly compare a PI GFE to a TJ GFE. Also, you would be hard pressed to see your favorita going to the room with 1, let alone 12 other guys before you get a chance to talk to her in the PI. I would even make this trip for the car ride from the airport, I have my hottie Blue Nile girl picking me up and she has been instructed...
bud
mongering1@yahoo.com
IMHO- you can't simply compare various locations by doing a dollar-cost analysis of what it'll cost to get a GFE. The most improtant factor is how well you like the women. I think guys that love TJ latinas will also love Rio garotas, but might not like orientals. I've done PI and BKK and loved the cheap prices. Still, I usually ended the night by jerking-off in my hotel- alone, because I couldn't find a little asian slut that got me horny. I say go to where you like the women. If it's cheap GFE you're looking for, go to Zimbabwe. The US dollar is collecting 20,000 Zim dollars on the black market there. Hell, you can GFE the entire country for those prices.
Methinks the prices listed here, at least for the PI flights, are WAY TOO HIGH if leaving from the west coast.
Last November I woke up one day and decided to book a flight to the PI, leaving THAT NIGHT!! I booked my flight with less then 13 hours before departure and paid $684RT, tax included!!!!
Unless you plan on walking around all day, every day with 2+ LT girls, ringing bells in each bar and so drunk you can light your piss you'll be needing to work at spending more then $100-120 per day. For me, that number approaches $150, but Progman can attest to the "aggressive" approach I take to mongering in this town...
E
I can detest to your "aggressive" approach in at least two towns!
Another point, is that if a monger was not even as aggressive as most of us, like LTing just one girl a day/night/day, you could easily get by on farless than 100/day including your hotel, food, massage, moderate drinking, and of course having sex for around 12-16 hours with a little hottie! Add just 20 plus 5 for a tip and double your pleasure.
I have to think of something else, my nads are a growin'.

7 days and a wake up
By Progman on Saturday, January 25, 2003 - 07:42 pm: Edit |
From Las Vegas a one or two day trip TJ would be cheaper. If you plan on a one week+ trip there is absolutely NO comparison. I know guys getting prices as low as $780 from the east coast. It's a long flight but the rewards are so worth it. But for sake of argument let’s say a R/T tix from Las Vegas is $900. Let’s compare one week in the PI vs. one week in TJ:
TJ –
Driving from Las Vegas: $20 each way x 2 = $40 for gas
Parking USA side: $7/night x 7 days = $42
A decent 4 star hotel in TJ: $75/night x 7 days = $525
Booze 20 drinks $2.50/drink x 7days = $350
Lady drinks 15 $5.50/drink x 7 days = $577.50
SEX all night = $200, two short times = $40 x 7 days = $480
SEX with two girls all night = $400 x 2 = $800
Cabs to/from hotel = $4 x 2/day x 7 = $56
Cab to/from border (arriving and leaving) = $5 x 2 = $10
Food $10 x 7 = $70
Total = $2950.50
Angeles City –
Airfare from Las Vegas to Manila = $900
Transportation to/from MNL & AC = $38 x 2 = $76
A decent 4 star hotel in AC: $35/night x 7 days = $245
Booze 20 drinks $1.10/drink x 7days = $154
Lady drinks 15 $2.50/drink x 7 days = $262.50
SEX all night = $18, two short times = $18 x 7 days = $252
SEX with two girls all night = $36 x 2 = $72
Cabs (trikes) probably don’t need them but I’ll say = $3
Food $5 x 7 = $35
Total = $1999.50
In Angeles City there IS NOT hunting for a GFE. It’s all over the place! Remember when you mentioned you have no problems finding that GFE in TJ because you been there so many times. In AC, after a couple trips there is so much free pussy you won’t know what to do with it. We have found that it is in our best interest to pay the girl because we can keep it business. I’ve had several girls text me asking for 300p for a new phone card. They came over to the hotel and I fucked them for 4 HOURS then gave them a new phone card. I’ll repeat - that’s $5.50 for 4 HOURS.
Snapper I know you haven’t been to AC yet because we talked about it that one time in TJ. No offense but you need to make a trip out there before you attempt to make a comparison and state which is better.
Peace!

Progman,
4 HOURS, what the hell are they going to do for four hours.-jk When I'm mongering I don't really care to have any one particular girl around me for more than an hour. I'm a short time kinda guy, but that's just me.
Here is your price list, but with what I spend:
Driving from Las Vegas: $20 each way x 2 = $40 for gas
Parking USA side: $7/night x 7 days = $42
A hotel to my liking: $45/night x 7 nights = $315
Booze 27 drinks $3(average including tip)/drink x 7days = $567
Lady drinks 15 $8/drink x 7 days = $112
Two short times = $100 x(club chicas plus room) 7 days = $700
SEX with two girls all night = $400 x 0 = 0 (not my thing)
Cabs to/from hotel = I like to walk if I'm not too buzzed $5 x 3 = $15
Cab to/from border (arriving and leaving) = $5 x 2 = $10
Food $5 x 7 = $35
Total of $1836.
I can justify the airfare, but I can not justify the travel time(witch to me is the big issue) by staying only one week.
Here's how I look at it. Lets say I make around $35.70 per hour. I am willing to sell my time to the company I work for for $35.70 per hour. Therefore I value my time at $35.70 per hour.
Manila travel time both ways plus ground transportation and early arrival to airport:
50hours x $35.70 = $1785.00
Tijuana travel time:
9hours x $35.70 = $321.30
Time is money. And travel time is dead time. We all now that there are more productive, entraining, or relaxing things that we could be doing rather than spending 46 hours in a plane. Shit, 46 hours is more than an average work week.
"No offense but you need to make a trip out there before you attempt to make a comparison and state which is better." ...I'm not trying to say what venue is better. I'm just stating why I love Tijuana.

Snapper,
You make good points and I should apologize for insinuating that you were saying TJ was better than other destinations. Unfortunately, we can’t go back and edit our posts after we post, however, I would have changed what I wrote… As far as the flight effecting my vacation time - I travel on the weekend so I'm not using vacation time (I work a Mon - Fri job). During my first trip to SEA it seemed like a lifetime to get to Thailand. Once I experience what Thailand had to offer I soon changed my tone. THEN I went to the Philippines... That was it. My life was never the same again. That 20 hour flight was nothing.
I agree, with your M.O., you may not like the type of experience AC has to offer but let me say that there is something about a pretty little Filipina being in your bed and treating you like a god. She will blow you as many times as you want. Fuck you whenever you want, and many times wake you up to fuck again. For me a typical overnight stay with these girls consists of cumming no less than 5 times before I kick her back to the bar.
I'm not the only one that will attest to how amazing this place is and that it's worth every hour sitting on that plane. Just talk to Xkansan, Epimetheus, and BigBalls. All were AC rookies and have now changed their whole life around when they will go back again. None of us are losers. We all have commitments to work and family. We all are mature responsible adults. It's very difficult to describe this place and how it made TJ seem so minuscule but it has.

NOBODY on this planet loves TJ more than me. That being said, from what I have read here and in emails from friends, I'd KILL to be able to stay away from Mexican brothels long enough (2 months?) to save the money necessary to take a 10 day trip East to either Thailand or the PI. 3 weeks ago I thought I had the airfare already saved up. Now I'm wondering how I can get some extra money to take care of the double time I'll be spending in Monterrey during Easter vacation. Addiction is not the most pleasant thing in the world once the high is gone!!!
If you play your cards right, you can leave on a Friday night (int'l flights to Asia tend to leave near midnight) depositing you in the PI Sunday morning. The whole flight occurs during the night so you wake up in time to land in Taipei at dawn. Wait for a couple of hours, board again, and like magic you are in the PI.
I remember the first time I got GFE in TJ. It was INCREDIBLE!! Kisses, soft words whispered in your ear by a breathless chica as you drive for home!! The best 30 minutes as long as the towel wielding assholes aren't being complete cocksuckers.
My first GFE in the PI was my first barfine!! She kissed me in the club, came back to my room and we had sex for an hour. Time for some sleep, then out for dinner. Swimming afterwards. Back to the room for more sleep. Wake up with a boner she was MORE then willing to take care of. Back to sleep. Woke up, breakfast, break for more banging and she's out fo my hair for the day. Total cost, including tip was $70. This includes my NICE hotel room (with high speed internet service, devoted staff, etc), food, drinks, the girls barfine and her tip afterwards. That's right, I spent $70 for my 24 hours in AC. Now, I made up for that the rest of the trip!! My GFE with this first girl exceeded anything I'd had in TJ. Then I took out two different girls the NEXT night and learned how far GFE could go!!!!
TJ is GREAT fun. It's freeway close, not that big of a hassle, and no LE to bug you (except for the occasional shakedown). After my second trip, TJ became a destination that helped me keep that lethal sperm count down to manageable levels. It's just a necessary convenience until I get back east.
I guess you could call TJ shoes, and the PI a car. Granted, initial costs are higher, but you get farther, faster in the east. Frankly, if the girls in the PI cost DOUBLE what they do now it would STILL be a bargain!!

Dittos... Thank god for these wonderful little brown girls.
...(prog)
I spent barely over $100 my first 24 hours in Angeles, had a body count of 6,and to this day the funnest time of my life.
2 Santos Girls(my cherry broken, thanks RW)=20
1 Santos Girl(you know who E)=10
3 Kitten Club Girls overnight, and one through the afternoon(you know who Prog and RW)=60
And maybe 20 more in food and tips. I did have the advantage of being cherry so my fellow mongers bought quite a few rounds, but still below the price of 5 TJ street girls, or maybe two club girls. All were total GFE, two were a little beyond GFE(meaning better). I would say that I had my hands on some chicks hot little ass for at least 87.5% of the time. I always made sure to spend a few hours BSing with my fellow mongers, not as easy as one would think here.
Having said that, I would like to know what the hell there is to do in TJ for the other 23 hours in the day if you are only fucking for two 30 minute sessions. (That's why TJ cost me about 400 a day, last 3 trips, stayed one or two nights, spent 600 or 1000, and I rarely by a ladie's drink in TJ). I know a lot of you think I way overspend, but lately, especially after hooking up with MILKMAN, I have not overpaid a chica in the last 3 trips.

mongering1@yahoo.com
Snapper is saying TJ is good cuz it's convenient.
But most, if not all, of us who have travelled will agree it is much better to go overseas. Even guys like Prog & Epithemus who lives close to TJ and myself(2 hrs), after one trip overseas, there's no turning back.
The airfare is usually between $500-800 to Thailand, not anything like $1700 if you know how to shop. The $35 X hrs on the plane argument.. I mean, comeon, it's a vacation.
All these maths calculations are somewhat invalid to me. Everytime I go to TJ I spend $200-300 in a few hours. When I stay for 1 or two nights it's $600-700. Basically, if you have a couple of days and a few hundred bucks to burn then go to TJ. If you've got a few grand and a week and a half or more then go overseas. There is NO WAY I'm going to spend 7 days in TJ.
There are many differences between TJ experiences and overseas experiences. One is, of course, the GFE. Another is overseas, I feel like a King! Like a BOSS!
So porker and fellow mongers, save up that 2 grand and get yourself a nice 2 week vacation.
One thing is the economy is different, so once you get there things are a fraction of the price in US. Just jerk off for now, Porker, and save the cash.
TJ is good for a quick release and some partying but it does not compare with the experience overseas .

"I mean, comeon, it's a vacation."
For me I would want to spend my time at the dentist rather be stuck in a plane for long period of time. To me air travel is one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever experienced.
I used to have a job that had me traveling all the time. I did one tour that sent me from Minneapolis to Hong Kong, Beijing, Osaka, Tokyo, Seattle, and back. Traveling by air was the worst part of this job and I still hate it. Unfortunately my girlfriend at the time worked with me, so mongering was out of the question. Maybe that would have made it seem worth it.
By Progman on Friday, January 31, 2003 - 02:31 pm: Edit |
Dickjohnson,
Those figures I gave on TJ were very, very conservative. I know most mongers would spend a hell of a lot more. I wanted to be conservative for two reasons (1). I didn’t want to get flamed for throwing out "inflated" costs (2). It re-enforced how cheat the PI or Thailand can be. Really, the only drawback to these trips is the amount of time it takes to get there and back. Those of us who have made these journeys know it isn't a big deal because the rewards far outweigh the travel time.
…(prog)
Snap, I hate dentists, gimme the plane anytime.
Prog, it is a bit conservative. For one thing if the short times you used were AB or CC girls the TJ budget would go up more.
The more horny you are, the more days you spend, the more you save overseas.

DJ, I love the dentist. The best part is when the cute dental hygienist with the nice body presses her tits into me as she's cleaning my teeth
Prog, look at your figure for drinks, then look at mine. That is the biggest discrepancy. You have $350 for 7 days, I have $567.

Again, I was being very conservative. Personally, my TJ drinking bill would be closer to $800.
Try to find the time sometime this year or next and take a 2 week tour of SEA. You'll really enjoy it.

Snapper, according to your budget, 1 hour total mongering time per day? I think we compare apples and oranges sometimes. My sole purpose for my trips is to get laid by my fantasy girls doing my fantasy stuff as long as I have money and wood. In TJ, I settle for what I usually luck into or not. In Angeles, money is not an issue since every barfine(except one, but it had it's own plusses)was a fantasy and wood is not as big an issue since if the girl is not turning me on, I'll just break out another $17.85 and get another for the entire night.

I think we compare apples and oranges sometimes. ...I think you're right. The sole purpose of my trips is not to get laid. The sole purpose is really just to GET THE FUCK OUT OF VEGAS and relax. It's nice to go someplace where I can nut a couple time during the weekend too.
When I started to monger in TJ I would do up to five chicas a day. Now I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or what, but my robo-mongering days are behind me. My baby-maker needs it's rest time too. Two chicas a day is just an average. Sometimes it's three, sometimes it's one.
I look at my going to TJ the same way my old man looked at going to our north woods cabin when I was a kid. It's a place to get away from the pressures that surround me at home.

Snapper,
Your last comment about TJ says it all - I feel the same way as you do about Tijuana in that it's a quick escape from the rigors of work and home. My advantage is that it's so damn close. I've been down there about 6 times since New Years. Most times I just hook up with a buddy and pound down a few beers. If I see a chica that makes the little general stand at attention then I'll indulge myself. For hardcore times I go to Angeles City, Pattaya, or Bangkok. I'm trying to build up memories so that I can tell the great-grandchildren what I did when I was younger!
