Hotel Imperial - Between Constitucion & Revolucion on the South side of 1st. In the afternoon the desk clerk (you'll find him upstairs) lets me use a room for 3 hours for 100 pesos. I spent the night there with my favorita Thursday - in room 20 (in front) which gave me a view of the (dangerous)street action. She mentioned that one night-shift chica helped muggers, but didn't tell me her name. (Tsk, tsk, some people have no ethcis at all). The rooms are extremely basic, but include a shower. Adjacent is Hotel colon, a "20 minutes is the standard time" (30-40 pesos), 80 pesos for a hour- type of place.

Stayed there last night (Dec 30, 2001) in room 20 again.
150 pesos ($16.50). Includes TWO blankets - nice and warm.
It seems they have spruced it up a bit. New curtains.
It still would be a good idea to use shower shoes.
This neighborhood (specifically this block) is considered dangerous.
Convenient to my select group of whores.

The price is now 180 pesos.
The picture for "Bars-Zona Norte:La Potranca" also shows the entrance to this hotel.
