Red Shirt Protest Photos May 14 2010
These photos were from 5pm-10pm on Wed May 14th both inside the red camp and outside with the goverment secuity forces. 6pm was when Abhisit declared that protesters must disburse or be removed and Ex-general Seh Dang in the head at 7:30 near Sala Dang. Here are the pictures. I appologise if they are not quite up to snuff. After 7:30 things got a little scarry as retalition for the ex-general seemed inevitable; flying bottles, rocket fireworks, homeade gernades, bombs and bullets could all be see and heard. Rouge Shrapnel was what was most frighning as I was not wearing any protective helmet or bullet proof vest and one of the press near me got hit with shrapnel in the arm and was bleeding extensivly.

One of the things that really bugged me was that before the CNN respondent went on air the producer handed the reporter (pic above) a bullet proof vest to put on. Perception and Image is everything I suppose. Note that none of the producers or cameramen are wearing vests.
Was encouraged seeing the BBC at least they had a reporter imbedded with the Thai Army (where I was later in the more volitile area of Sala Daeng where gunshots and bombs were quite common. Unlike CNN which was way on the peaceful side near on Sukhumvit. Note that I did not see either BBC or CNN actually inside the redshirt compound.

Funny how shit changes, think the firemen who said, "uhh, FUCK THAT" and opted OUT of firefighting might have appreciated bullet-proof ANYTHING?

Get a bargirl's phone number and take her to Pattaya?
Shit, more attractive than "DEMOCRACY NOW" protests in the Muslim world!

My understanding is that all this is happending around the Sky Train Siam Center stop. Can you provide more detail on location. Has it spilled over into NANA PLAZA or further into SOI COWBOY?
thank you for posting Gggmaddux. be careful out there! it's been pretty crazy. and getting girls is tougher since the curfew was put to practice.
left Bangkok for Pattaya for a week to get away from the danger. in Pattaya after 8 or 9 the place shuts down! i never saw Pattaya this quiet before! girls are hard to find but they are around. or you can just call a regular to come over! good to collect those numbers for just such an occasion!
here are some pics of the peaceful start of it all.

The area has been cleared now by gov't bulldosers but the red shirts protest camp was located starting a bit before Siam BTS sky train station on Sukhumvit and curving arround Lumpini park stopping at the Dusit Tanni in Sala Daeng one street off from Patpongs walking street.
