Manila - Angelwitch Dolls - Feb 2011

New club. Located between the Edsa International Entertainment Complex (or, Edsa Complex) and three KTVs next door. Exit the Edsa Complex and turn to your right. After passing the complex's entranceway near its Samba club is Angelwitch Dolls.

Walk upstairs to the second floor. Near the entrance to the right is a small bar and to the left is a large room. As you face to your left, seating is to the front and left, and about 20 feet away is a wide two-foot high stage against the wall to the right.

Over a dozen slim to medium-built girls were in the club and one male customer. I was the second customer at 10:45 pm on a Tuesday night in early February. Later a third customer came in and sat.

Following information came from a waitress and a sign on the wall. Happy hour was 9 pm - 11 pm, but my waitress said 7 pm - 11 pm. Beer cost 65 pesos during happy hour. Local drinks were only beer and sodas, and did not include drinks made with local spirits. A drink made with local spirits cost 220 pesos. Lady drink cost 155 pesos, 300 pesos, or 400 pesos depending on what was ordered.

I signed a chit for 65 pesos for my beer and my final bill did not include any other charge, such as admission, entrance, cover, minimum, show, service, VAT, etc.

Waitress said that the bar fine was 1500 pesos. This is 100 pesos less than Edsa Complex. No mention of minimum lady drinks. For example, when Edsa Complex's bar fine was 1,000 pesos several years ago, it required a minimum of two lady drinks, or else the barfined girl had to pay the difference.

This club has been opened supposedly a month. Its furnishing has a new feel. Its interior is larger than most Edsa Complex clubs. The atmosphere is similar to the better clubs on Perimeter Road, Angeles City where the staff is trying to hard to please its few customers.

The owner or manager was not there. So, I was not able to ask if this club has any relations to Angelwitch club in Angeles City, or the other group that owns Angelwich clubs in Bangkok and Pattaya, Thailand.

I liked this club. It is a welcome change from the Edsa Complex clubs. If you are a beer drinker, then this club offers beer at almost half the price of the complex. While I was there, different combinations of three to seven girls would get on stage and dance. None of the girls threw themselves at the customers, so you can pick and choose at leisure. Unfortunately or not, there was no tv monitor to view in case you become bored with the dancing.

A tranquil club with rock music and easy-on-the-eyes girls at slightly less prices.

Recommended for a change of pace.
