This is a repost of a posting I did on RS. I think there's a broad base of info presented, thus the repost.

In keeping with my promise, below you'll find a beginners guide to researching a trip to BKK on the 'Net. This is
NOT to be considered a comprehensive compilation, but a starting point. Most of the sites contain additional
links, and tips to finding more information.

The Nana Plaza Forum constantly has updated info and new links presented. Many Ex-pats who now live in or
around BKK are members of this forum. This is a super place to get the latest information as many members
send in updates while they're in country. (My guess is that this is much like NC might have envisioned a
Thailand section of Red Snake working)
One note; the FAQ and rules are upheld on this forum. It IS moderated, and the owner HAS and WILL terminate
folks who get out of line. Also, there is a 'Newbie Info' posting that is updated every so often. This is a new
posting feature that one of the members is continuing to post to keep down the number of 'raw newbie'
questions that get spattered to the forum.

This should get the aspiring BKK Newbie going with eager anticipation. If you fine additional info that you feel
would benefit the board, I'd ask you to add on to what I've given as a starting point. There are LOTS of specific
sites (hotels, clubs, Entertainment Complexes, etc.) out there, but it was my feeling that a laundry list would
not be appreciated by the board. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

- The Make sure you go to the message board Delphi forum. It's Free and a GREAT place for ongoing info and up to date details (similar to the TSM board, but this one costs $0)

If you're traveling to Thailand, don't limit yourself to Bangkok. At the very least, take a 3-hour side-trip to Pattaya and escape the smog. An excellent website with numerous links on the hobby scene in Pattaya is

You'll find a very comprehensive listing and reviews of hotels in Pattaya. There's also a very good informational section entitled "The Girls" which is a must read before you go to Thailand, fall in love with a local girl (which is tough not to do) and start sending her money. I strongly recommend reading this for all first-timers to Thailand.

If anyone else knows of any resources about the Thailand sex scene, please post them! I have read most of the links provided above, but I was really hoping for a nice message board like this to ask specific questions, etc. Anyway, any additional links to Thailand Sex Info are appreciated!

I am planning a trip to Thailand in mid to late 2001. It seems like Korean, Asianna, and China Air all have reasonable round trip airfare from Los Angeles to Bangkok. $599.00

China Air and Asianna both have decent safety records (in terms of crashes) from airsafe.com. Korean Air scares me a little bit.

Everything seems very cheap in Bangkok from what I have read. Girls are anywhere from $15-$30US each (including bar fine). This would be perfect for me, as I would plan on doing about 4 girls a night for about 7-8 days. (Yes, I am a young monger and have quite a few sexual fantasies left to explore.) Some of these fantasies are about multiple women at one time. That guy's post above with the foursome really got me thinking. Most of the resources mentioned above say the going rate for Thai ladies runs about 500 Baht, or $11.50US!

Also, in this month's Wired magazine on page 62, there is a picture of a Bangkok movie theatre, EGC Gold Class Cinema in Siram Square. It features 28 velvet reclining chairs, tray tables, and glamorous attendants that serve snack food like chicken wings.

The price for all this, you ask? 300 Baht. About $7.50US!

I can't wait for my trip to Thailand!

The movie theatres you are referring to are located in Siam square not Siram I believe. I have been to the theatres several times and it is truly the best that I have seen anyhwhere.

China Air has THE WORST saftey record in the industry. Though an amigo of mine did a trip with them earlier this year, and survived, I'd not suggest them.

I flew China Air and will fly them again next month, if you do some further investigating you will find that thier safety inspections proved to be the second best for all international carriers serving LAX according to FAA inspections, thats prettty good, additionaly they have really taken big steps since the last accident and as far a service goes I would give them a A. Incidently "The Worst" is 2 accidents resulting in death in the airlines long history, oh and with Singapores air crash they are now the "Second Worst" LOL besides your much more likely to get killed walking, riding in a Taxi, Tuktuk or a motorbike than in a air flight. I don't think they have driving laws in Thailand as a matter of fact 'driving suggestions' would be a strech. As far as doing 4 girls a day good luck my friend, I hope you are diciplined, the girls are so sweet over there it is hard to let one go and move on to another, if thats your plan I would recomend hitting a few message parlors then find a nice girl in a beer bar or go-go and spend the rest of the night with them. As far as prices I don't think you'll find a girl in Bangkok for 500 B if you do she will not be a looker. I would recommend Pattaya over Bangkok, that place is amazing.

In your experince, what would be the going rate for a girl in BKK and Pattaya in the bars? Bar fine included for short time? I planned on hitting both BKK and Pattaya.

Are the girls cheaper in Pattaya than in BKK? Also, what is the going rate in the massage parlors and what should be the upper limit?

Wrap yourself in a box and ship yourself on FED-EX ! They have never had a plane go down OR hi-jacked!

My experiences in BKK are limited, I found bar fines were 500 , short time 1000 and all night 1500. If you goto Nana Disco or Thermea coffee house you will not have to pay a bar fine.

In Pattaya bar fines were 200 in beer bars and around 500 in go-go's, prices were 500 to 1500. Everything in Pattaya seemed cheaper hotel, food and drinks.

As far as massage parlors go the range seems to be 1000 to 5000 depending where you go.

I made my first trip to Bangkok in late September. Had an absolute blast. Was trying to get back there for new years but airfare this time of year is too rich for my blood.

I am now planning to make my first trip to Nogales around new years. Looking for someone to show this rookie the ropes. Would be happy to share my Thailand experience over a beer.

Before I went to Thailand, I did a lot of research on the net. Check out www.soicowboy.net and follow the links to the personal web sites. I found them to be an extremely helpful source of info (especially BangkokBob's site: www.bangkokbob.net).

By using this map, you can better plan your trip to visit massge parlors, go-go clubs, BJ bars, etc. I only wished I had these maps before my first trip. If I had these maps, I would have been better able to maximize my enjoyment.
