not to be confused w/ ko pha-ngan.
this is the small town (pop. 10k) to go to for the boat tour to the famous James Bond Island (The Man with the Golden Gun) - ko pingkan & ko tapu (nail island). despite their names, the tiny islands don't have beautiful girls, p4p, hotels, restaurants, etc.
75min bus ride from phuket. tour agencies at the bus stn in phang-nga. www.sayantour.com is one of them.
other less commercialized/crowded (unlike phuket, ko samui, ko phi phi) beaches/islands:
similan, surin ( www.dnp.go.th ), ko lanta, ko tarutao, ko adang, ko lipe ( www.kohlipethailand.com )
