Stayed 10 days+ at Ruby 1. (Ruby 2 is newer)

Location is the middle of Soi 6 Yodsak (infamous short-time brothel street)

Cost: posted rate of 500b-700b a night. (dependent on length of stay, season, and your negotiating skills.. I paid 500b each day, but I bet I could have gotten lower as I was spending in the bar and bringing in some wingmen)

Can bring in your own food.

No joiner fees. (no extra charge for having guests in your room, no girl check-in)

Per the owners and observation during my time, there are not very many overnight guests. Most was four one night and just two majority of my stay. Helps make for a very quiet hotel.

Room: Large firmish bed. Good aircon. Flatscreen with lots of cable channels. God sized shower shower. Empty good sized refrigerator. Great lighting. Good quality windows and solid walls that dampen Soi 6 noise. Decent furnishings. (some rooms have desks, others a couple of upholstered chairs or a couch) ..for a direct comparison, rooms slightly better than the much written about Secrets with better lighting and far less noise

Amenities: Main business is a that of a clean brothel (rooms fully cleaned each customer, easily best short-time rooms on Soi 6), daily cleaning and house girl happy to remake or get no charge towels anytime during brothel hours. Bar share for a hotel guest is the same for taking one of their girls short or long time. Wi-Fi and a free house terminal. No pool or food. Strictly a room. Some house girls live onsite. Western owned and managed. Bar is friendly, well appointed, and open air to Soi 6.

Nice things: Short walk either direction on Soi 6 to the Baht buses. Short walk to many beer bars. Short walk to the Sabia soapies. Food carts stop all day out front and are cheap as chips and you have the girls to help you sample them. A couple places for restaurant food very close. Money changes, massage, and laundry on Soi 6. Bar is very comfortable with nice seating. Maybe best bar toilet in all of Pattaya. Drinks were reasonable at the bar and the coffee good (price list on their website) One very easily can get wingmen to meet up with you at the bar.

Downsides for some: No pool. No room service. No security after brothel closing, just you and your door keys. (was some debate with the owners on adding a night doorman if they hit a regular occupancy rate) It is on Soi 6 and walking the gauntlet during open hours can be an annoyance at times even for the most lecherous.

What might surprise some: Soi 6 is actually not very loud in the evening and almost silent after midnight until about noon.

Girls responses to having a room at a brothel on Soi 6: They really did not give a fuck be they from Walking Street, beer bars, or freelance. In chitchat, some notably impressed with the quality of the room to the price. I do note that Soi 6 girls prefer to short time at their home bar, but would gladly walk to Ruby if you made it a deal breaker.

Staff aside from the girls: Manager and owner pretty cool. Manager got pissy with a visiting wingman one day accusing him of not spending (patently false), but did apologize. Bartenders friendly and sometimes flirty. Maid was awesome and happily prompt with all requests.

Eating where you shit, the Ruby girls: Yes, it is a brothel. I sessioned with maybe five or six Ruby girls. Zero issues and not catty. Yes, some plying for me, but nothing over the top. I was more guilty of forcing some to play for me than anything. Was generally offered a discount by the girls on their share of the barfine. Quite awesome to have a bevy of girls to chat with at anytime and be the instant regular. No expectation felt to spend a lot in the bar. I did sporadically buy drinks, food cart food, and did take a couple to the movies. While I was there, the girls looks were maybe a notch below average for Soi 6 and a bit higher in average age. I did note the house rule of not allowing there girls to go out into the street to grab guys and they do not even shout out much from the bar.

Tips: Stock your refrigerator heavily of course. Get numbers of the girls that live in house for easy backup if you strike out on late night questing (they do not start work until noonish and would happily come to your room.. do expect to pay brothel share though)

Who is it for: Tighter budgets. Guys who do not need hotel amenities and can manage getting their laundry, money, and food on their own. Guys very comfortable with working girls. Guys who want quiet nights for sleeping. Guys more into short time and one night girls. (not exactly orientated as an extended GFE resort!) Guys who want a small no bullshit friendly hotel without joiner fees and desk check-ins for their girls. Solo guys as you have an instant home at the bar.

(on the no desk check-in I should comment before someone insinuates I am a creep.. for a legal matter aspect that shit is always on your own and a hotel desk holding or copying an ID gives you no real security or legal standing. I personally find it more annoying than anything especially in that the IDs in use in LoS are garbage at best in their lack of security features and the length of validity time)

Not sure why the the distinction with barhare. You pay the same barfine in Pattaya bars regardless of the barshre or girls share or whether you take the girl ST or LT.

Thanks for this hotel report. I am one who enjoys a good deal. I have to say though that most of the 500 baht hotels I saw were not that great. I found that you got what you paid for in Pattaya. I stayed at the Secrets which I felt was a good deal, but there was some nickle&diming.

Do you have some pictures you can post here of the hotel?

Here are some pics taken inside my room at Ruby Club. Good lighting. Pics taking with a Canon compact that does not exactly have a strong flash, re-sized lower for here.

Maybe a couple dinky things to note on the room:
-it was a keycard to get aircon on -thicker curtain, so no real super heat issues and did cool quickly
-had a good view of Soi 6 out the window, too bad no balcony.
-the dead bolt does have a place to put a padlock
-safe is in the wall
-no ceiling mirror and too bad the bed side mirrors not a little lower
-no idea why so much closet space in my room, not all exactly alike though.. couch or a table would have been better space use.. however, the newer space on other side of Soi 6, Ruby2 looks to have more sensible floor plans

Thank you. You cant go wrong for 500 baht or 16 dollars a day. I enjoy paying for the room out of pocket with a few bills when leaving these places. Its nice to know that I can still do that versus having to throw a mountain of cash on the credit card.

No rodents. Both Ruby 1 and 2 full gut and rebuilds. Place was super clean with no kitchen or cooking done there. Fair question considering the state of many of the Soi 6 brothels though.

On the girls in the pics here.. the second one in the black top worked at Ruby, second to last one in black bikini set from Heaven's Above off of Walking Street, and the rest beer bar girls. The twosome were admittedly butterfaces, but great bodies, attitude, and teamwork. I almost regret not keeping them a couple of days.

On the 500 baht rate.. I just walked up, had a couple drinks at the bar, and took a room tour. I countered the rack rate (600b maybe at the time?) and just paid 500 baht each day without commitment and they were happy. Simple outfit, I do not recall any paperwork or ID copy either.

I wanted to clarify my "rodents" comment for those not in the "know". Pattaya does seem to have a rodent problem. When there is a hotel with a kitchen/restaurant then that is a recipe for rodents. Its good to know this location does not have a kitchen.

I did stay at jasmine hotel just off walking street close by happy ago-go last summer, for long stays during low season got the room for 345 US for 1 month, acceptable budget hotel but not as nice as this hotel.

That's a nice room. A room like that in Angeles City would cost 2,500 pesos($53).

The girl in the purplish dress is a major find for a beer bar. That kind of quality will eventually wind up in a gogo.

I have been to Ruby club a few times now that i am in Pattaya. I would like to add that i have had taken already a couple of girls there and the first one was a nice choice but the 2nd one was like having sex with a dead fish!!!
the rooms look ok but kind of very bare and there is no security of any kind once the club closes.
was going to stay there and the manager already told me i had a THB 500 a nite room but later he tried to do the switch and stick me in a THB 700 room!!! thought it was a bunch of B...S.. and reply in kind and cancelled my reservation. did end up a the nelson hotel and is just fine and actually a steal for just THB 600. nice place, comfortable and very quiet once all the clubs closed late at nite.

I think ruby2 is now called solo bar.

went here, the girls down soi six seem to avoid long time so i put this to the test by asking one girl if she did, she said she felt sick so couldnt do it. Also i like the way they dress up to look like tarts i dont know the same word usage in other countrys, there was a major incident that happened in this bar that was on the news ill look it when i get back to England.

An Australian man was murdered in the bar by an American. The Australian was drunk and playing around with a girl lifting her by the throat, the American was in a group also drinking heavily and intervened. He punched the Australian to the ground and stamped on his head and then left the bar. The Australian later died and the American turned himself in to the police. It turns out he has a record back home. More of the story can be found in local newspapers but it's been reported around the world too.

Whenever I go down 6 i always go in this place as they always seem to have young attractive woman, only this time I was oblivious to what happened a couple of weeks ago, I wondered why the owner seemed to be on high alert,the poor guys eyes were nearly bulging out checking every corner of the place.

In addition he has killed before in Florida and has an outstanding warrant for some other offense, not that I can find it anymore as it was over 5 weeks ago.

It would very unfair to tarnish Ruby club for the stupidity of these idiots; at the end they got what they deserve each other and not respecting the host country.
lesson to be learned (again) is being decent and respectful of ALL around pays off, treat all and everything around you they way you want to be treated: NICE !!!!

Short time rooms are nice, very clean with shower 300B, 1000B for the girl and about a 100B for LD.
