i made my first visit to bar 91 (at 91 hai ba trung, or HBT). i'd read/heard that this was the best one of the HBT bars but i'd had good enough luck at thien loc and cali in the past. now thien loc is not good and cali is closed.

bar 91 is a nice place. 20+ girls on a wed night. bar fine $25 (500,000vnd). lady $60 (1,300,000vnd), although the initial quote i recvd was $70. one beer 2usd (40,000vnd), one lady drink 3usd (60,000vnd). so pretty much the same as bar 49 on HBT. they don't seem to want you to hang out for long in the bar or pool table area. so hard for your total cost to exceed 2,000,000vnd (a notch below $100usd) and this assumes you go for a second beer and lady drink. it is fine to just walk in and pay the 500,000 bar fine and take the girl. no need to buy drinks at all. i enjoy shooting pool with scantily clad ladies so i usually go with at least one round of drinks.

generally, you can take the lady to dinner or another bar before you head back to the room if you prefer that style. no addtl cost other than the dinner/drinks. i've done that in the past but not this trip.
