Just browsing the site and I found a link to a LIVE webcam on Walking Street. As I am on right now in the US (MST), it looks to be early morning as the street looks pretty quiet, people sweeping the street ans bldg fronts. But what is hilarious is that few girls on the street (not bar girls) look to chase down every male farang walking down the street.

I have stayed and do recommend the 'walking street' guesthouse that's mentioned above.

It has a Safe box,24 hour reception, daily maid to clean your room, Air con, fridge, book online with PayPal, allowed to take in guest and the Australian bar next door does a great hamburger.
