So the title says it all. I am planning on going to Thailand for about a month for the first time. Planning to spend the majority of the trip in Pattaya. If possible some explanation of the costs in Thailand would be great. Thanks.

Just a rule of thumb, budget $200 bucks a day. Sometimes you'll go over, sometimes under. In my rather limited experience, I have to concur that lodging and amenities in Thailand are a real good deal compared to the PI.
I wish I knew more about Thai foods and the good places to go to get it.
I have a question for the guys who have travled from the US to PI or LOS recently. If you flew budget, was your plance packed going over and coming back? Is there any criteria a person can follow to up his chances of getting an empty seat next to him? Thanks...

Depends on how much you want to spend and your budget. A reasonable range couple be anywhere from 5-10k/b per day.
Quilombo - depends on where you're flying. In general, cheap seats are fairly full, which is why status is a must imho. You can view seat maps prior to flights of course and see how full it is/select seats.

LOL, "sex with your hand priceless," you know I get so drunk in the bars that when I take a bargirl to the Hotel I'm out cold on the bed, so the bargirl ends up giving me a hand job; well I suppose she's got to give me my money's worth.

It depends on when you go also. It is cheaper lodging during off season.
Some of the guest houses have cheap monthly rates and the Pattaya bay resort has a monthly rate of about 600 a month for a room off season.
Even during high season you should be able to find a guest house with that rate.
Girls are like the other guys say. If you want the finest in the club, get ready to pay a premium.
The food carts have good food and it is cheap. I live off of them and I could afford higher.
Just me, if I was going for the month I would take at least 2k so I wouldn't have to worry about money.

Yes thought that would be easier. Most people have difficulty when talking large numbers in foreign money.
