2012: 1- AC 2- Subic 3- Manila 4- Puerto Galera 5- Cebu City
I wrote the following on the Chatboard on Jan 19, 2013. I re-posted it here, as a quick guide to the top monger areas in PI. Info is based on my visits in 2012 to all, except Puerto Galera. Hope you find the guide to be useful.
1. Angeles City.
Definitely recommended.
Most guys would be happy in AC. Lots of clubs with girls on stage and a few with shows and mid-week special parties (un-advertised, except with street banners/posters).
Suggest you stay on/near Fields Ave until other foreigners describe other nearby bars. Try Walkabout Hotel, Swiss Chalet (not the cheapest room), Pacific Breeze for moderate prices.
Easiest way to get to AC is a flight to Clark airport. Second easy way is a flight to Manila, stay in Ermita, and then Fly-The-Bus from the Swagman Hotel or Southern Cross bus from the Southern Cross Hotel to be drop off in front of your hotel.
2. Subic.
Easiest way to get there is from Angeles City on Fly-The-Bus, Southern Cross bus (not a daily bus) at Brass Knob Hotel, and a few other vans.
Subic is a name used to describe various locations around the city of Olongapo. Actual name is Barrio Barretta.
BB has about 10 - 15 clubs, which open about 7pm. So, it is much smaller than AC and has much less activities. Clubs have fewer girls than comparable AC clubs. Advisable to bring a girl during holidays.
Stay in a hotel with National Highway as its street address.
3. Manila.
Three main areas with expat clubs are in Ermita, Edsa Complex in Pasay City, and Burgos Street in Makati.
-- Burgos is recommended for a newbie to Manila.
City Garden Hotel is near high-end and Durban Street Inn is a low-priced value.
10pm shows at Jools and Stardust are recommended. Cheap beer at Rogues (2nd story club).
-- Edsa Complex houses about seven clubs with up to 40-50 girls in one club and 150-200 girls in all clubs. Cheaper than most Burgos clubs, but equivalent to AC's higher-priced clubs.
Next door is a 2nd story expat club and are KTVs, primarily for rich Asians. One KTV supposedly has both Filipinas and Russian girls.
Only two nearby acceptable hotel, Heritage Hotel and Copacabana. But, there are half-dozen short-time hotels within a block.
-- Ermita has basically free-lancer girls in bars. Manila Bay Cafe is probably the best known and easily has the most girls, 24-hour. Boring, but cheaper than Burgos clubs and Edsa Complex. Be careful walking around in Ermita, day and night, of young teens, girls on sidewalks, beggars, muggers, vehicles of all sorts driving the wrong way.
Many expensive KTVs (in Ermita and in metro Manila) are primarily for Asians, but other foreigners can enter and pay. Many straight and gay bars/discos/clubs a few blocks away on/near Remedios Steet in Malate.
Stay at Executive Plaza Hotel.
To get to Puerto Galera, book a bus+boat package at the transport desk inside the CityState Tower Hotel.
4. Puerto Galera.
Friends tell me that Sabang has four clubs with a lot of girls.
Other parts of the island has acceptable beaches, but surf is up only at certain times of the year.
5. Cebu City.
I regard CC as good for a long weekend. One red light area for expats (Mango Ave ?) has about 10 clubs. Girls mostly appear in the evenings. Other clubs for expats is a long walk away. Still others are a taxi ride away and may have more Filipino and Asian male customers than expats.
Worth a visit, but will not be for everyone's taste.
To get to CC, a direct overseas flight or a discount airline from Manila or Clark, like Cebu Pacific Air, Seair.
Seas around CC is too dirty. Get a taxi for several hour ride to other parts of Cebu island to get to the beach.
6. PI beaches.
Sorry, I avoid sun, sand, and surf; so, no good leads on beaches. The general advice is take a girl with you to the beach.
