I spent a week in Angeles city recently and discovered I was one of the only below-50 mongers there. I'm sharing my experience because I think it might be useful for certain readers. And it might upset many others, so you've been warned.

Me - I'm 34, I've had mongering experiences in Brazil, Mexico, Thailand but nothing in the past 2 years, and so I was looking forward to my Philippines trip.

Spolier: I ended up keeping my dick in my pants, and I left Angeles city without having any sex at all.
There are 3 main reasons I refrained. Bear with me (I've spent a lot of time thinking about this).

- Pretending away the money: There were some really old guys. And I mean 80-90 year old men. With 20 year old girls. It felt like an alternate universe. During the whole week I only saw 2 or 3 guys as young as me. I bought a lady-drink for one hot young girl and enjoyed her honest conversation, and when I asked she told me quite matter-of-factly that her biggest problem in life was Money.... It was a slap in the face - It's Obvious but I had been pretending like I could simply turn a blind eye to this immense money chasm... But it's there. It's reality and it's the only reason these young girls are servicing old men (or having a conversation with me in a bar while half naked). I also saw one young girl dancing on stage with the other girls but she had her eyes to the ground and a frown on her face and she was clearly fighting back tears. First day on the job but she's gotta do it.

- Investing in corruption: Most of every dollar I spend on a lady drink or a barfine goes to the bar owners, most of which then goes to bribing police officers, most of which will eventually get shared with corrupt politicians. I am quite directly sponsoring corruption. I don't want that for a country like the Philippines, which is a great country with amazing people, who deserve a non-corrupt government. Money talks, especially my awesome USDs. What's worse - every time I invest in a barfine, I invest in the kidnapping and trafficking and the first rape of a province girl who is most likely .. uh... not quite ready for it. (I'm assuming she's raped by her captors)

- My personal growth: This was the most subtle reason but also the most important reason for me. I'm young(ish), I'm single, and back in the real world I'm still trying to get better at meeting girls, getting dates. For a while I was even obsessed with pick-up-artist stuff (i.e. faking an attractive persona) and had recently decided that this faking was not good for me, that it was ultimately a hack and it was not helping me grow as a person. It occurred to me now that if PUA techniques were a bad superficial hack for getting a girl to like me, then Money was an even worse hack. (I tried telling myself that paying for sex was a more honest approach to getting sex. But the truth is that I was paying not only for the sexual act but also crucially for the pretense that she likes me.) Paying for sex would additionally train me into thinking that sex is a huge favor girls do for guys.

Moreover, since I'm young(ish) and somewhat good looking, I still have my life ahead of me, an opportunity to improve myself, to date girls, to do things the right way. So young guys mongering in Angeles city is actually much more pathetic than older men doing it.

I would say to the OP what did you expect? Of course the prostitutes are only with old men for the money.

At 34 you should just save your money and bang regular girls your own age. When you get to be my age (mid 50's) it becomes considerably more difficult to bone girls in there 20's without monetary inducement and you may reconsider your aversion.

I have never been to AC but I have spoken to a guy who had a somewhat similar reaction to yours.

Enjoy your youth but dont be too hard on guys who want to enjoy their old age as well.

Heck, I started mongering in my 20's. I had absolutely no problem getting civilians at home - but that did not change the fact that I liked hookers as well.....In my 30's I lived in Brazil/Rio, dated 3-4 regulars at a time and still banged hookers on the side....

@Beefjerky1 Thank you and I completely respect that. I may very well return to paying for sex once I get older. My post as such wasn't directed at older men. My thought process was more on the lines of "What do I wish someone had said to me before I bought flight tickets to Philippines, etc." I hope my post sparks some thought in other younger men like myself.

If there is any takeaway for older men, (and feel free to ignore me and spit in my general direction), is to invest as much on charity as you invest on girls. This is not for purposes of "goodness of heart" but with the understanding that money does talk, and your dollars influence the way the future turns out.

And I'm not sure why anyone's annoyed that I mentioned charities. Maybe it's a sore point on this message board (I'm not a frequent reader), but surely charity-giving is not incompatible with mongering is it? Anyway I'll shut up now.

Concarne describes the demographics accurately. They are in line with what I saw on my recent trip.
