If any of you have stayed at the Landmark Hotel, will you please tell me about your experience there? Is this hotel guest-friendly? How are the services and facilities?

Very swank and not guest friendly. If you are the kind of fellow that enjoys dressing for dinner then this is your place. A lot of very wealth Janapese stay at this hotel. I felt that, as an American of European desent, I was tolerated at the Landmark rather than welcomed (or at least my money was).

I stayed there 10 nights in spring of 2002. It's an upscale hotel with great facilities -- I especially liked the new gym. My friends and I had no problem bringing guests, at any time of the day. I thought the services were excellent.

It's not cheap -- I think I paid something like 3,900 per night for a "club floor" room. It seemed like lots of businessmen stayed there, as well as a fair number of Aussie and German families on vacation.

The bottom-line? It's a great hotel that is strategically located (3-5 min walk to NEP, Beer Garden, and Eden. What more does one need?). The only negative is that it's pricey. As you all probably know cheaper options exist in the vicinity. I'd stay there again (although it probably behooves me to try other nearby hotels).

Never stayed there myself- not worth the price IMHO, but I know many who have and they have had no problems with bringing girls to room. Also the bar girls at Nana beer bar go there regularly with customers and tell me there is no problem with guests and no joiner fee.

I enjoy the Landmark and have stayed there many times. You can check with some of the local travel agents who get special rates on a certain class and number of rooms. The hotel is guest friendly. If you bring a girl in during the day its no questions asked. If its late at night they will courtesy check the ID of the girl if you want. When she leaves they will call the room and make sure everthing is ok before they give her the ID back. If you are tired of the 800 baht rooms give this a try at least once. Its a breath of fresh air and 2 to 3 minute walk to Nana.

stayed at Landmark for 2 night in june on my return to bkk from pattaya i walked in and was told they only had excutive floor rooms left at a rate of $115 us per night location was good so what the hell up i went, in hindsight i wish i had looked at room first, dont get me wrong the hotel staff, room, service, location, and amenities were all first class though my room was basic not a suite and before i left for pattaya I stayed at president solitaire platinum suite which was amazing would run rings around my landmark room and at nearly half the price, its a bit of a walk to nana but i prefared soi cowboy anyway so on my return to bkk it has to be the solitaire.
i understand the rate may be cheaper if i had pre booked or booked on net.

p.s Landmark hotel is guest friendly had no problems except that one night my bg didn't get asked for her id card and she then went back handed to concierge and had a go at him for being to lazy and putting guest at risk from bad bar girls(only in thailand)

Landmark Hotel is mentioned in 2013/11 Costar - Thailand, November 2013

quote:

I might switch to the Landmark Hotel with its excellent rooms and fitness center. The Landmark rooms start at about 3000 baht, but it is well worth it. It's a bit trickier sneaking a girl in there if she has no ID, though, because there's no privacy in that lobby for greasing a security guard.
...
I want to know where you-all are staying for comparison, and I never would have stumbled onto the Majestic Grand on my own because it's a bit out of the way. I checked it out. The rooms there currently start at 3900 baht, though --for that much I'll stay at the Landmark, a much nicer hotel that's closer to Sukhumvit Road and the BTS. Also, the MG's fitness center is nothing compared to that of the Landmark, which has a full complement of free weights (barbells and dumbbells), plus a real squat rack --a major plus for me. It also has acres of aerobic machines for those who like those. The Landmark also has more than twice the number of elevators, eating places, a nicer lobby, etc. You might want to check the LM out; it's more for your money.
